    Release ASUS RT-AX55 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_53244 (2025/06/20)

An FYI. There is a separate discussion started back in May about that security vulnerability. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/greynoise-discovers-stealthy-backdoor-campaign-affecting-thousands-of-asus-routers.94809/ PS: And an earlier discussion posted about this firmware but it didn't...

Diversion [SOLVED] Diversion Guest Network Pro - blocklist applied to multiple SSID

Would that (guest network client names) be solved by manually assigning host names, IP addresses, to the Guest Network Pro clients? Or by using a /jffs/scripts/dnsmasq-x.conf.add file to do the same? (or a dnsmasq-sdn.postconf file) PS: My Pi-Hole properly uses the Guest Network Pro client...

Diversion [SOLVED] Diversion Guest Network Pro - blocklist applied to multiple SSID

Isn't that something easily accomplished by using DNS Director and pointing the Guest Network Pro profiles to the router? Doing something similar for my Guest Network Pro Profiles by pointing them to a local network PiHole.

Diversion [SOLVED] Diversion Guest Network Pro - blocklist applied to multiple SSID

Diversion is supposed to be functional with Asus-Merlin 3006.102.x firmware. See here: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/compatibility-findings-with-addons-with-gt-be98-pro.90657/page-7#post-947006 And see the dedicated thread for Diversion, which may have more...

Does Roaming Assistant Not Work Anymore ?

Out of curiosity do you have Smart Connect enabled or disabled on the main router? Wonder if that plays a role when enabled. WiFi client might be jumping to the other main router band rather than jumping to the node, AP or WiFi extender (or maybe not and has nothing to do with the issue).

Does Roaming Assistant Not Work Anymore ?

Usually Roaming Assistant entries shows up in the logs as roamast. On a RT-AX86U Pro that defaulted to having Roaming Assistant enabled. No AP, AiMesh or Wireless Extenders on the local network the following is indicated, from time to time, in the system log. Jun 26 17:25:41 roamast: ROAMING...

Does Roaming Assistant Not Work Anymore ?

@ComputerSteve, what other AP's, wireless repeaters or AiMesh nodes do you have on your local network in addition to the GT-AX11000 Pro running Asus-Merlin 3006.102.4? https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1036730/

Guest Network Pro in FW 3006 - different default DNS Server than in FW 3004?

If I remember right (but I might be wrong) the 3004.x firmware Guest Network (when not using YazFi) would use the LAN DHCP Server DNS address if one was assigned. If none were assigned or if one configured the router to be included with the DHCP DNS address, then it would use the router and what...

Guest Network Pro in FW 3006 - different default DNS Server than in FW 3004?

Did you assign DNS servers in the Guest Network Pro Profile Advanced > DNS Servers section? Or did you setup DNS Director to route your Guest Network Pro profile clients? Does your Guest Network Pro Profile use the same IP address subnet as the main LAN or does it use a different IP address...

    STATIC IP menu asus router

Up to you. See how the router (or client) identifies itself in the Network Map and other areas and decide if its acceptable or not. Personally I assign a Host Name for all my manual IP reservations (both main LAN and Guest Network Pro clients) because sometimes the default name the client or...

    AX86U Pro as NAS

Solved Cannot add network printer using ZenWiFi BD4

Is the WiFi indicator LED on the GT 5820 blinking or is it a solid color? You may need to rerun the printer WiFi setup. The user manual for that printer has directions starting on page 72: https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04937829.pdf#page=72...

Solved Cannot add network printer using ZenWiFi BD4

@Terepin, I may have missed it but what is the make and model of the printer? Have you checked with the printer's support and or discussion forums to see if others with that printer have experienced similar issues? Also what firmware (specific version) are you running on the router? And to...

Solved Cannot add network printer using ZenWiFi BD4

Didn't misunderstand you at all. Try those settings if you haven't done so already. I've had similar issues where a WiFi client indicated it was connected but could not be accessed by other local network clients. First step was to check the WiFi settings. In my case I also disabled Smart Connect...

Solved Cannot add network printer using ZenWiFi BD4

Post your WiFi settings for others to review. Is the printer being attached to a Guest Network (or Guest Network Pro network) Some suggestions since it's a 2.4Ghz WiFi client that is having problems. Set the Authentication method to WPA2-Personal not WPA2/WPA3. Set the WPA Encryption to AES if...

    AX86U Pro as NAS

Standard warning. The router is not an NAS. A router, with its low end processor and limited RAM, is not designed to be an NAS. The USB port and SMB function are addon features mainly to sell routers. I would strongly suggest, if you haven't done so already, to search the subforums to see what...

High RAM usage seemingly causing WiFi to not function

Do you have a USB drive attached to the router? And are you using that drive as local file storage/media server (i.e. reading and writing files to it)? Do you have any third party script loaded? If so which ones? If you have a USB drive attached and are using it for file storage then high RAM...

Router can't reach IPv6 despite clients having full connectivity

For clarity if you really have a RT-AX58U V2 then one would use the GNuton fork of the Asus Merlin firmware. The Asus-Merlin firmware does not support RT-AX58U V2. The RT-AX3000 V1 uses the same firmware as RT-AX58U.
