AC87U: 100% CPU load on both cores and connection problems

Unlike grifo, my AC87u has regular occurrences of both CPUs at 100% for some period of time which will eventually result in a loss of DNS. Restarting dnsmasq sometimes helps, mostly doesn't. Regular restarts seem to make the most positive difference. To troubleshoot, I have been removing...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Updated my RT-AC87U this morning. Took 2 tries after removing the USB drive - which seems to be the new normal for me. The one odd thing is that after the upgrade completed, both WiFi radios were disabled. Not sure how/why that happened. After enabling them in the gui, everything seems to be...

connmon connmon - Internet connection monitoring

Not sure what is happening - but connmon is no longer showing me the correct page. I tried a uf to see if that would resolve the issue - but still showing the wrong page. Anyone else seeing this? Any thoughts as to how to remedy?

Firmware update (384.11_2>>>384.12) for ac87u not taking effect

It took me 3x for it to stick. First time I tried with the USB drive still mounted. While it looked like it was going to work, upon reboot I was still on 384.11.2. So, unmount the USB drive and try again. Still no joy. 3rd try was the charm and my ac87u was on 384.12. Going into it, I knew that...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Hi Asad Ali, I followed your suggestion and saw a ton of SLU errors (~160,000) from my desktop going to google-analytics.com. No idea what was trying to call home - but I black holed www.google-analytics.com and google-analytics.com on that machine to see if that was the source of my problem...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that - and there were a lot of SLU errors - but CPU is still high after processing the lists. If I disable Diversion, CPU goes to 3-5%. When I re-enable it, it stays low for some period of time - and then "something" happens and it goes high. Still trying...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I was wondering if anyone else is seeing high CPU% from pixelserv-tls. Recently it has been stuck between 80-95% on htop. Before I uninstalled and reinstalled Diversion, it was at ~95%. I have restarted the router multiple times. As well, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Diversion 4.1.1...

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

So, for those that are keeping score - Joe68000 set me straight. Create an openvpn-events file in /jffs/scripts containing #!/bin/sh /jffs/scripts/YazFi runnow & # YazFi Guest Networks Save it and make it executable. Simple as that.

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

It appears I spoke too soon. This doesn't work properly. Syslog shows ovpn-client2[3839]: Multiple --up scripts defined. The previously configured script is overridden. and my client is still having problems with being connected to WiFi - but not to the Internet. Still looking for help...

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

After a little more RTFM, I figured it out. If anyone else is looking for the solution, this is what my PIA VPN config Custom Configuration looks like: persist-key persist-tun resolv-retry infinite tls-client remote-cert-tls server disable-occ up "/jffs/scripts/YazFi runnow" up-restart

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

Hi Jack - I'm experiencing the same issue with my PIA VPN. I found the line in firewall-start - but I don't seem to have an openvpn-event to modify. Looking at the openvpn forum, I see a reference to adding a line in the VPN config. Is this what you were suggesting? persist-key persist-tun...

Scribe scribe - syslog-ng and logrotate installer

I'm also running into the same issue as Goobi. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling using "--insecure" in the curl command string bug (as per the link) - still getting curl: (60) SSL certificate problem: self signed certificate in certificate chain More details here...

LAN - DHCP Server Page Broken v384.5

Colin! You the man. :D Thank you very much for putting me straight. Interesting to find that when I was adding the devices back, the ones that were missing in the hosts.dnsmasq file (in my case, I used a space between two words) gave me an error message when I tried to add them back...

LAN - DHCP Server Page Broken v384.5

Oddly enough, hosts.dnsmasq has reverted to what it was before I edited it. Something else must be re-writing it - which is likely the source of my issue.

LAN - DHCP Server Page Broken v384.5

Tried that - nothing is showing up at debug level. Might have to try rebooting to see if something shows up there. Right now the static DHCP table is back the way it was with no drop downs or anything else working (a drop down with the host names had been showing before). Thanks for your...

LAN - DHCP Server Page Broken v384.5

I'll double check the special characters. I am pretty sure that I'm using an apostrophe in one name ('). Adding the missing names in hosts.dnsmasq returned the drop down box under the names field. So, perhaps the factory reset will fix the table. I'm not seeing anything dhcp specific in...

LAN - DHCP Server Page Broken v384.5

Thanks for your quick response. I had upgraded from the latest factory 382 release and had did a complete reset prior to configuring things. The DHCP page had worked for sometime - as I managed to put a number of devices in there. Both dhcp_staticlist and dnsmasq.conf have the same devices...

LAN - DHCP Server Page Broken v384.5

I recently upgraded to 384.5 and everything seems to be working well - except for the LAN->DHCP Server page. From the LAN page, everything looks to be fine. However, when I go to the DHCP Server Page - the top of the page is missing - and I'm not able to change any settings on the page. I...
