AiMesh Backhaul Connection Priority is missing WAN option

Yes, clients can roam between meshes, but their IP address will change and existing connections will drop, as the roaming is not seamless. However, since this is between two buildings, this roaming will not happen frequently and maintaining two separate meshes looks like a feasible setup for...

AiMesh Backhaul Connection Priority is missing WAN option

"Router" in your diagram must be an AiMesh router, for this to work. Two AiMesh nodes cannot peer with each other through the WAN port.

    Release ASUS RT-AX88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525 (16-02-2023)

Do you use the Reboot Scheduler? I have my Asus routers all set to reboot daily at 4:00 am. It's under Administration: System: Basic Config. I have Smart Connect enabled, and haven't had any problems with that.

Beta Lyra MAP-AC2200 AiMesh 2.0 Beta?

As some posters above have commented, these leaked beta firmwares seem to work far better than the old stable firmwares for the Lyra; that was my experience for Lyra Trio as well. I'm sure Asus has their reasons for not releasing these beta firmwares officially, but if you have any ability to...

    Release ASUS RT-AX88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22525 (16-02-2023)

This firmware seems to be working quite well so far. Instability issues seem to have been fixed.

Beta Lyra MAP-AC2200 AiMesh 2.0 Beta?

Ah, sorry, mine is the Lyra Trio, on 9.0.0.4.386_41615; the firmware you listed is for the Lyra. If your source does have a later (unofficial) beta for Lyra Trio, I'd be happy to try it out.

Beta Lyra MAP-AC2200 AiMesh 2.0 Beta?

Update didn't work: "Firmware upgrade unsuccessful. This may result from incorrect image or error transmission. Please check the version of firmware and try again."

Release ASUS RT-AX88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22237

I can confirm that this firmware is too buggy to be used. It's not started properly the last two auto-reboots, and connections have been unreliable. I am using this for AiMesh router and nodes, and have decided to also roll back to the previous firmware which was working fine.

If you uploaded it, where did you get the file from before this?

    https://www.snbforums.com/threads/lyra-map-ac2200-aimesh-2-0-beta.72267/post-687000 ...386.41615. I haven't seen any 386.46132 for the Lyra Trio.

Beta Lyra MAP-AC2200 AiMesh 2.0 Beta?

I've been using this for about a year or so. Haven't had any problems, and even though it is an unofficial beta and not available through official channels, it has worked better for me than the very old stable release.

Beta Lyra MAP-AC2200 AiMesh 2.0 Beta?

Where do you see that? I only see 3.0.0.4.386.41615 in the beta download page link listed above.

Binding clients to aimesh node (Lyra MAP-AC2200)

I've been using this since June, and it works far better than the stable firmware. I'm not sure what's holding up the official release, but if you're facing problems with the stable firmware, especially around AiMesh performance and reliability, I would highly recommend this unofficial release...

    Release RT-AX88U New Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_45898 (06 Oct 2021)

Parental Controls - Web and App Filters ==> doesn't seem to be working. The button can't be turned on and the managed clients can't be listed or added anymore.

    DHCP Problem: IP Allocation problem

Nothing conclusive, but this is what I've found. These look like previously-unused DoD IP addresses, now managed by Global Resource Systems, LLC. It looks like this IP address range, which used to be owned by the DoD but are now dormant, are now managed by Global Resource Systems since...

    Setting aimesh nodes

I've been using the 386 beta firmware for my Lyra Trio, and found that it seems to work better than the older stable firmware. It's stable and robust enough that I've been able to decide to put them back into my AiMesh mix together with my newer Asus routers.

What happens with two different ASUS routers in ai-mesh?

I actually found that turning lots of stuff on has worked for me... that said, with so many APs blanketing my home now, most modern clients are able to connect to 5GHz and mostly older / IoT devices are using the 2.4GHz where they don't need much bandwidth. I've also wired most of my...

What happens with two different ASUS routers in ai-mesh?

Most of my APs are connected via Ethernet backhaul, but the lone AP that isn't is generally doing well too.

What happens with two different ASUS routers in ai-mesh?

I used to have a AC68U as my main router, and later added a Lyra Trio set using AiMesh. However, I found that I was facing a lot of unreliability problems, and later replaced the AC68U with an AX88U. For a while, I found instability in the wireless network with both the AC68U and the Lyra Trio...
