    AX86U Check my settings please

The physical wireless card would have to be changed to get 5G working not just the driver (may not be practical) Unless you are planning to return the Rt-AX86U Pro it would easily handle the "older" machines, and you will be ready for any new changes. Asus does list this unit for large homes -...

    AX86U Check my settings please

@laptop - A search of that adapter indicates it is not a AC card (not 5G) that is why it will not connect to the 5G band, it should work nicely on the 2.4 band. On your RT-AX86U Pro - using the default settings will allow the router to connect to the "best" band for each of your devices. -- Bill

    AX86U Check my settings please

I will make an effort.... For the OP I am using the same model router - with my own modem CM1200 xfinity service 500mbs I used Merlin a while very successfully speeds were 580/620 on hard wire lan and 5g wireless was 480 (near router). Asus fixed a firmware issue that caused me to try Merlin...

ASUS AX86U Pro with newest Merlin Firmware With Rock Solid Performance!!!!

I'll second the above comments - I have recently replaced my aging RT-AC68U with the RTAX86U PRO it has been very solid with the latest Merlin build as well. In my case I was having some issues with IPv6 setup with the latest "stock" firmware 3006.102_34312 . I was about to roll back the...

RT-AX86U, turning on firewall breaks IPv6

I did see the age of the thread (Thank you) it seemed relevant to post as it was an issue with the latest Asus firmware yesterday. The differences in firmware are also noted, seeing IPv6 issues on the board, Asus "may" have some bugs in certain configurations. I was hoping to maximize for...

RT-AX86U, turning on firewall breaks IPv6

Trippie123 - I know your thread has some age but wanted to share a fix, I searched it out as I was having the same issue on a new RT_AX86U PRO (this replaced my RT-AC68U). It was driving me nuts, I did a factory re-set and installed the latest Merlin software. I then manually set up the router...

    IPv6 Setup with Comcast/Xfinity

JohnD5000: Here is my setup with Comcast (I have my own SB6141 modem) I just set drop down to "native" (also ensure the firewall is tuned on under "Firewall") and IPv6 test fine with reliable connection. hope this helps -- Added: I use the Merlin default DNS in my setup, only adjustment there...

    NAT settings and VOIP phone

Thank you all for the reply's - I will be happy with the defaults. I suspect it would be difficult to get a tech answer from the provider, I did find a few suggestions in searching on specific settings but I saw the unit disconnect and reconnect randomly (this was with the first three enabled)...
