    [RT-AX88U] Beta firmware

Yes. I have. After few rounds of logs; they said it might be hardware problems. They have seen very few hardware issues; and once they happen it is often visible as reboots on daily basis. I will return back the router and getting new during the week.

    [RT-AX88U] Beta firmware

My RT-AX88U crashes every day. Tried with 10 diff firmwares including merlin firmware. I am getting these in the crashlog.log. Firmware: 3.0.0.4.384_5951 LOGH LOG BEGINNING... Kernel panic - not syncing: softlockup: hung tasks CPU: 0 PID: 1056 Comm: eapd Tainted: P O L 4.1.51 #4...

    [RT-AX88U] Beta firmware

I suspected something went wrong during publishing of firmware. My spontaneous daily resets are still not solved, so I am still in touch with ASUS trying to understand if it is hardware or kernel issue.

    [RT-AX88U] Beta firmware

They asked me to provide information. I have given them two feedback tar balls. Both with two different resets. One with kernel dump and one without.

    [RT-AX88U] Beta firmware

Now, I found the feedback tab in the router administration section in the "router GUI". Asus have contacted me and showed me that in a screenshot. GUI for me is to ambiguous to figure it you meant the router gui. :) Thanks.

Did you generate those? How to understand this?

    RT-AX88U Internal security

I agree that user space software shouldn't be a big problem. But I think its all a consequence going for non main stream linux distro in first place (stripping stuff, tuning etc) due to HW constraints. Any rebase of sw version pulling in new deps creates work, trigger updates of build systems...

    [RT-AX88U] Beta firmware

I have not tried the 160Mhz mode on router which is one of few chips such as Intel AC9650 offer. I just recently replaced wifi chip to AC7260. Couldn't go for AC9650 due to pcie mid-size in my old laptop. Sounds like an interesting setup, thanks for sharing. But are your clients getting the...

    [RT-AX88U] Beta firmware

Yes, those standard answers are disappointing and made me doubt alot finally ending up in this interesting place. I would not even qualify it as "Technical support", but everything is relative. :) I am still in evaluation phase. Right now, all firmwares I tried are shaky on my AX88U device...

    RT-AX88U Internal security

Right, I was comparing from 2018 because the AX88U is from that year. Well if that is the pain point here to evolve into more secure networking unit, perhaps a change should be planned by asus. RMerlin, I am also working for software company, so I do understand what change of platform means and...

    RT-AX88U Internal security

Maybe they are. I was perhaps comparing to recent androids (samsung s9 and onward), I think they have 4.9 something if I am not wrong. My raspberries, minnowboard have also 4.14+ something. They are also pretty embedded devices just powerful enough to run more powerful stuff than 400 mhz board...

    RT-AX88U Internal security

When devices start to have 4 x 1.8 Ghz CPU cores, capability of running vpn, nfs, tor, download client capability, cloud file sharing and more (even only for home usage) it becomes quite of advanced networking unit. It is the feature set which motivates the price of premium router and users want...

    Asus RT-AX88U Wall Mountable?

One side of the socket is CNC:ed for sliding in a screw. (Only on one side, the side possible for hanging not the other). I am not sure why it wouldn't be used for wall mounting even though the spec does not mention it explicitly.

    RT-AX88U Internal security

I wanted to raise the concern of potentially lacking internal router hardening in cases where router is hijicked/exploited by any means. Such means could be attacker getting into router via software exploit/bug of any of the services that are enabled in the router. Routers are open for...

Remove the two rubber plugs and hang it on the wall. I have not done it, but here is the picture of the backside:

    [RT-AX88U] Beta firmware

Are you talking about signing in to ASUS account at asus.com and issue product support case (which I have done, but these guy tells you to restart the router :) ) ? I dont find any "Send feedback" button.

    [RT-AX88U] Beta firmware

I got a kernel panic this morning with 9.0.0.4.384_5787 firmware. This is not related to the previous restarts because I always checked the content of this file and it was empty until now. /jffs/crashlog.log Kernel panic - not syncing: softlockup: hung tasks CPU: 3 PID: 1113 Comm: watchdog...
