Tracking real-time traffic for specific device

Thanks - that's not bad - appreciated. I was hoping to be able to see it on a moving graph (as with the mobile app.), but I don't think it's possible.

Tracking real-time traffic for specific device

I may be overlooking it, but has anyone found how to monitor real-time traffic for a specific device? I can look at historical data for a device, or current (aggregated) real-time traffic, but not real-time for a device. I can do that using the Asus mobile app. (which is amazing, considering how...

Routers need hard reboot (powercycle) as they hang

One thing I did notice, by ssh-ing into the router. I saw hundreds of processes, all with this: cp /tmp/syslog.log /tmp/syslog.log-1 /jffs I'm not suggesting that's necessarily THE problem, but it's certainly A problem.

Routers need hard reboot (powercycle) as they hang

So clearly there are some real issues with the firmware and these issues are not new ones. It's been the case for years. A very big shame because it makes the devices unreliable, which is the last thing you want in a router!

Routers need hard reboot (powercycle) as they hang

Thanks. Yes - I've also had issues with DHCP, so mine could be similar...

Routers need hard reboot (powercycle) as they hang

I may try that. You using telnet of ssh? Where's the setting to enable one/both of those?

Routers need hard reboot (powercycle) as they hang

When it locks, it continues to route, but I can't even access the GUI to check things out. A power cycle is the only option I have.

Routers need hard reboot (powercycle) as they hang

Fully resetting and manually re-configuring isn't really something I want to do as there are a lot of rules, etc. In something like a router I just want to be able to leave it running and rely on it. Having to "tend to it" regularly basically makes it too unreliable for me. If you (or others)...

Routers need hard reboot (powercycle) as they hang

Yeah - bit of a pain, though, if I have to keep logging in to check memory consumption. I guess that was my question - are there any known issues such as memory leaks that makes this firmware unreliable? I can guarantee that my routers will lock up if I just leave them alone and that's not...

Routers need hard reboot (powercycle) as they hang

I've had this with all versions of the Merlinf/w, right up to the latest and with both AC66U_B1 and AC88U routers. Every few weeks, they need a hard power cycle in order to be able to log on to the web interface OR for their DHCP server to work. Looks like some services must just hang or stop...

    Poor performance with Parental Controls

The migration used a brand-new, clean and factory-reset AC-88U. Settings were not copied frpom the AC66U_B1 other than basic manual ones. In general, the settings are default and the only exceptions are to add some LAN MAC-IP mappings, the WAN authentication details, enable dual WAN (using a LAN...

    Poor performance with Parental Controls

Yes - it blocks access, as it should Just that the devices listed for time control schedules have terrible performance. Removing the devices from the list of those under time controls remedies the issue immediately. So - as far as I'm concerned, with current firmware on this device, the time...

    Poor performance with Parental Controls

No - it's not that complicated! It's simply a time-schedule rule. As soon as I remove time-schedules for the device, it flies again instead of crawling. That across a phone, Chromebook and Android TV - all the same. Nothing else - just time-scheduling.

    Poor performance with Parental Controls

On my RT-AC88U router, I put in a few time-scheduling rules for some devices. I then noticed that those devices had terrible network performance. I took the rules off for one device and it because super quick again. The problem remained for the others, so I removed all rules and they all run...

    384.10 doesn't upgrade on RT-AC66U_B1

And all - thanks for your super-rapid help & support. Awesome!

    384.10 doesn't upgrade on RT-AC66U_B1

And I have it working now. So - tried twice (as above) with no success and Core 1 CPU stuck at 100%. Third time, I powered down for a couple of minutes, powered up again, did the flash once more and then powered down. On powering back up, it seems fine, CPU fine and it's showing the correct...

    384.10 doesn't upgrade on RT-AC66U_B1

Yes, it's the RT-AC68U firmware I used (as always). I don't use any USB drives, so that's not the issue. I rebooted twice now and with two upgrade attempts. Still the same and CPU Core 1 is permanently on 100% - never ever drops under. I can try a third time, but can't see how this is going to...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 is now available

Well - on a RT-AC66U_B1 is still shows the old version (384.9) after an upgrade and reboot. Tried this twice now with the same result. Also - following this, CPU Core 1 stays at 100% either for AGES or for ever. It's still there, quite a long while after the upgrade attempt. Core 2 runs very low...

    384.10 doesn't upgrade on RT-AC66U_B1

So - tried twice now, from 384.9. Upgrade all seems to run fine, but either it's not actually performing the upgrade, or the version number in 384.10 is still showing the old version. After an upgrade and reboot, still shows 384.9.
