Alternative to Pastebin and replacing MAC Addresses with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx automatically?

Notepad search and replace (CTRL-H Replace All) function can replace a portion or full MAC address (or any specified text) in a log file with whatever you want. Easily scripted on a linux platform with standard commands ("grep", "sed" etc) as well. Maybe one of those will solve your issue?

VPN site access more and more blocked

I don't know about an official database, but it isn't too hard to figure out the ranges of the major VPN players. There are certainly unofficial lists of ranges that aren't too hard to find, and decades ago I wrote some code to sniff out likely VPN routing so I'm sure many smarter people than me...

can configuration information of the same firmware version be exported/imported to each other?

Summary; If you have to ask "is it possible...." the answer is no (to save everyone a headache). If you want to do it, go ahead, but be prepared for all sorts of bizarre issues and hope that a full manual reset and config resolves it. It is your router and your right to screw it up.

Solved Internet dropping out frequently (RT-AC87U)

Just to fill in some blanks.... My RT-AX88U has F/W 384.19 (I know it is old, but it is stable). I did roll back to 384.18 just to check, and install a fresh copy, and it still rebooted. It sits behind my ISP router, and the WAN IP is 192.168.0.1, with an internal LAN range of 192.168.0.x The...

Would like to see more routers with 8+ ports

Back in the day, I preferred a separate switch (or multiple actually) but for simplicity and space savings, currently it is more feasible for me to run everything directly off the 8 ports in my AX-88U. I have numerous switches (4, 8 16) sitting in boxes in the closet but will run this as long as...

Solved Internet dropping out frequently (RT-AC87U)

Not sure that "solved" is appropriate for the title of the thread. There is no actual solution, other then possibly replacing the router. The past 2 weeks I've been running into a somewhat similar issue where my AX88U was dropping WiFi. I then found that it was actually rebooting. I then...

Securing a NAS without using a VPN

Do a quick Google search on "NAS malware" and you may want to rethink exposing your NAS to outside access without a VPN.

Two ISP in same network, and choose whatever you like instantly (AX68u)

When I had a primary (personal) and a secondary (work) ISP, I just setup both routers in the same subnet (with unique IP addresses of course). I would then just switch my default gateway to whichever one I wanted to use.

    CAT5e still shows 10/100...

I'm m old school. Ive never used a wire cutter / stripper to remove the sheathing, I always use a utility knife to score it, then remove it by hand. I've also never used a pass thru connector. I like the idea, maybe not valid, that the wire is not exposed to moisture for longevity purposes...

    CAT5e still shows 10/100...

Putting an rj45 connector on the end of a cable isn't always as easy as a couple of pictures make it out to be. In learning, I went through dozens of connectors until practice make it perfect. it takes a while to get things to fit just right the wires have to be trimmed straight so that they can...
