    AC86U 384.14_2 - Tasmota Sonoff wifi connection.

I flashed the same device with Espurna instead of Tasmota, and now it connects without issues to the AC86U with SSID+password combination which didn't work before...

    AC86U 384.14_2 - Tasmota Sonoff wifi connection.

I didn't want to change my wifi password either, but as an experiment it could be interesting to know if using "testtest" would allow your devices to connect normally. For me this worked. If it works for you too then I guess there's an issue inside Tasmota that causes it to reconnect on certain...

    AC86U 384.14_2 - Tasmota Sonoff wifi connection.

I tried rebooting the router, which didn't seem to help in my case. I changed the wifi password to "testtest", and then the device would connect... When I use a longer password without any special characters it doesn't work. But the password I use for the hotspot on my phone is even longer (the...

    AC86U 384.14_2 - Tasmota Sonoff wifi connection.

With my RT-AC86U on firmware 384.13 I also have problems connecting my Tasmota device. It connects without issues to the hotspot I make with my iPhone and I was able to update and configure it just fine. But when I configure it to use the WiFi network from my RT-AC86U, the device keeps...

Advertise router DNS to VPN clients as 2nd DNS server

Hi all, I've got a TUN OpenVPN Server running fine on my RT-AC86U with Merlin 384.13. But I have a problem when specifying the DNS servers my VPN clients should use. For example: router IP is 192.168.1.1, primary DNS server is 192.168.1.2. I want my VPN clients to use the primary DNS server...

Is using a USB stick a bad idea?

Thanks for replying! Good to know router continued to operate. Yeah maybe I'm making it into a big deal :p but I'd prefer not to buy SSD drives for this purpose at the moment, more bulky and expensive then the cheap usb drive I use now. I can make a backup and replace the usb drive in 10 minutes...

Is using a USB stick a bad idea?

Interesting. Were you using a swap file when the usb stick died? I think I'd crash if I were a router and suddenly part of my ram was lost XD If it crashes then it would be hard to send a notification that the usb died, I suppose. Then I'd have to look for an external monitoring solution...

Is using a USB stick a bad idea?

What happens when a USB stick dies? Does the router crash? Shutdown? I've got a USB stick in my AC86U and installed Entware, YazFi, made a swap file, and I plan to install Skynet in the future. But I'm afraid the USB stick will die soon (it's not a brand new one), and I was wondering if I'd...
