    Asus BT10 (given discount)

Received it and running as router for a day, primarily as a wireless router with 2 laptops. No dropouts and disconnections - so DongKnows 3-day torture test results were right. Finally able to get both 6 GHz and 5 GHz channels going, both with 160 MHz, including the completely free DFS channels...

    Asus BT10 (given discount)

Yes, but even without AFC in BT10, while AFC is already present in BQ16 Pro - the range/throughputs are roughly the same in the comparison datasets, for AX and AXE clients - same review as you linked to. Maybe AFC in BQ16 Pro doesn't really matter in the real world ?

    USB Wifi 7 adapter - USB-BE92 Nano

I have standardized on Apple for my personal and even work devices, because of the same/similar reasons I've standardized on Merlin for years: I need my devices/network to work reliably and predictably, more than I need the devices to show off a spec-sheet. I likely wouldn't have stuck with Asus...

    Asus BT10 (given discount)

I just found that Amazon US has a small $ 25 price-drop on the Asus BT10 single pack, and went for it. I have a single-level home less than 2000 sq. ft, and could use the 6 GHz band with my laptops primarily, as the 5 GHz bands are very crowded by the neighbors. What I don't know yet is whether...

    USB Wifi 7 adapter - USB-BE92 Nano

Would have been great to have Mac driver/compatibility - since 2024 Macs are lacking wifi 7 for the most part…

Struggling with Asus ZenWiFi BE30000 aka 3 node BQ16 Pro bundle

I have swung and settled on the BQ10, after finding they have stabilized the firmware to a working state... However, I'm sticking to a 1 pack, and will use my AX58 as the mesh satellite. Will have to see how it goes :O

Struggling with Asus ZenWiFi BE30000 aka 3 node BQ16 Pro bundle

Where did you find the sale ? I'm looking around too. If we have no option but to get buggy products, we might as well get them on sale :)

    ZenWiFi BT10 Lan speed

According to Dongknow's review too that came out today - the firmware has been apparently made usable

Struggling with Asus ZenWiFi BE30000 aka 3 node BQ16 Pro bundle

Yes, so I'm thinking of getting a 1 pack BQ16 Pro for now, and try to use that as a mesh with Ax58U. Primarily to take advantage of the 6 GHz band of the BQ16 Pro - and hopefully the firmware will mature soon enough. I just hope that the BQ16 Pro doesn't have a hardware bug or problem that...

Release ASUS BQ16 Pro- Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36789-g357c373_918-g66952

Is the BQ16 Pro (as single/main unit) too unstable to use as the main router ? I'm hoping to get a 1 pack to use as the main unit, with a AX58u as AImesh satellite. This is to take advantage of the 6 GHz band with my laptops, when connected with the BQ16 Pro directly...

Struggling with Asus ZenWiFi BE30000 aka 3 node BQ16 Pro bundle

The pioneers with BQ16: Would you say even the hardware in these are potentially buggy as shipped, and Asus is actually revving up the hardware while in production ? In other words, doing new ASIC spins and stuff with Broadcom in the hardware too, apart from the expected firmware immaturity ? I...

Are the new RT-BE96U / GT-BE98_PRO really worth it over my current Asus RT-AX88U?

I don't buy that argument of upgrading the router when "at least 10 devices" are 6 GHz capable, when I actively spend more than 90 % of my usage and productive time on my 2 Macbook Airs (one work, another personal) - whose 6 GHz performance in latency and throughput is what I actually care...

Are the new RT-BE96U / GT-BE98_PRO really worth it over my current Asus RT-AX88U?

This is more for the internal network improvement with long-term upgrade goals (moving to Asuswrt 5.0, 6 GHz and so on, as the home devices improve and move to Wifi 6E and then 7). I had initially thought of BE88u with 5 GHz to go down that path/strategy - but read merlin's comment that 80 MHz...

Are the new RT-BE96U / GT-BE98_PRO really worth it over my current Asus RT-AX88U?

Thanks, checked at worst-case locations across the walls and turns out the signal is right around -60 dBm. Looks like its worth trying the BE96u then - given my neighborhood (yes, US-based) is quite crowded with 5 GHz - so 6 GHz may be a worthy investment. (I was initially thrown off by...

Are the new RT-BE96U / GT-BE98_PRO really worth it over my current Asus RT-AX88U?

If anyone in this thread is using BE-96u - can you please comment on whether the 6 GHz band is providing sufficient bandwidth (~> 1 Gbps) with reasonable latency across say 2 or 3 wooden walls - but only within 15 feet distance ? I'm trying to figure if I can benefit from from the 6 GHz band...

    RT-BE88u Latency Measurements

Excellent, you made my day and sold me on the BE-88U in that case. I had been doing my research about it here, and this was one key worry I had about getting the BE-88U. Is there any argument in favor of getting the BE86u instead of BE88u - aside from higher USB3-attached SSD throughput for the...

    RT-BE88u Latency Measurements

Thanks for the feedback. Is the 3-4ms you noted the minimum or average ping, averaged over say 100 pings from the terminal ? Example command from terminal is ping your-router-ip-address (Not to be done with speedtest on the internet/browser, so that the measurement is purely between your...

    RT-BE88u Latency Measurements

Hello, Is there an owner of BE-88u running merlin in the forum ? I'm hoping to get some hard data/readout of 5 Ghz latency characteristics from an endpoint such as a laptop to the BE-88u in your home or such ? Say from a distance of 6-20 feet at most ? Of course, nothing methodically...

Home Network Upgrade with RT-BE88U (Merlin) & AX-58U as AiMesh Node - Inputs ?

Yes, have coax cables, however, I have been suspect about signal interference with my cable internet, since its a 50 year-old house. Have you had good experience and does the intranetwork work fine when you have cable internet signal running in/into your home ? Any recommendations for MoCa...

Home Network Upgrade with RT-BE88U (Merlin) & AX-58U as AiMesh Node - Inputs ?

Yes, I'm adventurous enough to experiment in a measured manner, so long I have some RoI with the experimentation - here that's improved bandwidth from backhaul. Sounds like there is some value in digging - yes, Channel 36 is among the most uncrowded channels in my neighborhood - believe it or...
