Asus RT-AC88u Router / WD 2TB Drive showing as unmounted

Asus RT-AC88u Router / WD 2TB Drive showing as unmounted. The router has the most recent firmware installed, re-booted pc, router, modem, and 2tb drive, tried both the usb 2 and usb 3 inputs, whatever I do the asus sees this drive but shows status unmounted. The drive is formatted in NTFS but...
