    Solved GT-AXE11000 Replacement Ant

Cool glad you got it working. Where did you get the antennas? Bit expensive for a node, maybe you can bling it up too?

Reverting to asus stock firmware to fault find

Well create a backup config, try stock, if that does fix then try factory reset. You'll still have your config to go back to. For testing you want to be as close to out of the box as possible. So preferably nothing connected.

Recommended Wi-Fi settings for IoT devices that randomly disconnect / reconnect? Doorbells, bulbs, TVs, thermostats, etc.

Try fixing your 5ghz to 36-48. Some devices like Amazon Firesticks and LG tvs don't work on certain channels. I had to fix mine on 36-48 to get a consistent connection. (Yes there were other people using these channels too)...

Stock firmware and a full factory restore is always a good troubleshooting step.

    XT8 constant disconnects

I wouldn't say unreadable. But certainly could do with some paragraphs and maybe structure

USB to 2.5Gbe adapter on AX88U

I thought there was a driver update that fixed that? Might be a bit difficult to fix on the XT8. Question is, if you can find a B version, will it work? I've been looking for one that is a B version but difficult to confirm they are B versions.

    Asus XT8 IPv6 bypasses pihole

Those setting were from my RT-N66U running very old Merlin firmware. I haven't tried in on my XT8 yet and I don't have IPv6. Was just showing what works for me.

    Asus XT8 IPv6 bypasses pihole

You are putting WAN DNS as pihole IP then on the pihole putting an external DNS right?

XT8 using 2.4ghz as backhaul even though worse than 5ghz

If there is interference on the 5ghz2 band. It gets disabled for a short while and has to revert to another band. 2.4ghz seems to be the default. I turned 2.4ghz off but it took a while and a couple of reboots for it to actually deactivate. I got these two units again and really stable now with...

Frustrated with Asus XT8 IPv6, should I just turn it off?

Is this related to your pihole thread? Did you try the two suggestions there?

    XT8 constant disconnects

OP do this. Full hard reset using pin underneath. Basic setup, plug nothing in but the wan from router to modem. Have router and node in same room over 2m apart. Test it is working and wait an hour. After the house copy and paste the system log and the wireless log in here and we can look at...

    2.5gb or 1gb wan port AX86U

Hmm that's interesting. Because I just cannot get it to work like that if one is a router and the other is a node. Is that the setup you had? The instructions say you most connect the 2.5gb wan port of the node to a LAN port on the router. I once managed to trick it into accepting the 2.5gb...

    Asus Zenwifi XT8 set up

Tbf all ISP modems I've had have never had the bridge mode option. So just connect the wan of your Primary XT8 to a free lan port on your ISP modem. You can forward all traffic to your XT8's WAN IP. If you are using a lot of smart devices like amazon fire sticks and smart TVs, be sure to set...

    2.5gb or 1gb wan port AX86U

Are you sure? I could never get 2.5gb working as backhaul and either lan or usb-ethernet working as WAN.

    Asus XT8 IPv6 bypasses pihole

I use pi-hole on my n66u. I think there was something mentioned about "do not insert a dns in x box as you can't delete it afterward" thing. Meaning if you've filled that box in. Only way is to wipe and start again. Unless that nvram command does the same thing? My WAN DNS goes to my pi-hole...
