RT-BE86U details from ASUS rep at Computex Taipei (POSSIBLE NEWS SCOOP)

That's MSRP though, I suspect the price will fall to around $200 within a year of release.

RT-BE86U details from ASUS rep at Computex Taipei (POSSIBLE NEWS SCOOP)

I suspect the reason they skipped 6 GHz here is because they kept the design with the detachable antennas - which may be a benefit to some people, if they want to use higher-gain antennas. I hope they release a Pro version with dual 10G ports.

RT-BE86U details from ASUS rep at Computex Taipei (POSSIBLE NEWS SCOOP)

By the way, there is a way to get a second 2.5G port on the AX86U by using a USB 3.0 dongle. Far from an elegant solution, but it works. Search this forum and you'll find the thread where someone did it. So if you're looking at the BE86U vs. the AX86U mainly for the 2.5G ports, you may not need...

RT-BE86U details from ASUS rep at Computex Taipei (POSSIBLE NEWS SCOOP)

Well 2.5G is certainly better than 1G, but anyone who pays for 3G+ speeds is going to want to access that on a single device. Imagine paying for 10G internet and settling for 2.5G on any one device, that's madness. You would never get this router for that. So the 10G is mostly pointless, just...

RT-BE86U details from ASUS rep at Computex Taipei (POSSIBLE NEWS SCOOP)

I image searched the router and found these recent images on a Chinese website: https://www.chiphell.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2619679 Not a big fan of the aesthetic tbh, but it's ok. It's like they took the AX86U and made everything a little worse looks-wise. But this is subjective...

RT-BE86U details from ASUS rep at Computex Taipei (POSSIBLE NEWS SCOOP)

Surprised that it would be the same price as the AX86U, considering it's tri-band and has 4x 2.5Gbe LAN and (dual?) 10GbE WAN. Seems unbelievable.

    USB WAN keeps disconnecting (AX89X)

I'm testing the USB WAN function on my AX89X with a Pixel 7 Pro phone and it keeps disconnecting every few minutes. Here is what the log looks like: May 4 01:34:51 WAN Connection: WAN(0) link down. May 4 01:35:12 WAN Connection: WAN was restored. May 4 01:35:36 WAN Connection: WAN(0) link...

USB WAN not recognized using Xiaomi 11 phone

That's strange that WiFi calling and VoLTE would have anything to do with it, but my provider has both and they're working on the phone. I've also tried a different provider and still nothing. The phone is not being recognized at all, so I don't think it's an issue with provider/APN/etc, I think...

USB WAN not recognized using Xiaomi 11 phone

Hello, I'm trying to share my mobile internet using the USB WAN function and a Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE phone, but the phone is not being recognized. I've tried Asus AX86U, AX86S and AX89X routers running stock firmware, and none of them recognize the phone. Windows 10 has no issue recognizing and...

Temporary Loss Of WiFi And Log Full Of "acs_start eth7 cannot select chanspec with the wrong info"

Unfortunately that doesn't fix it. I've tried everything suggested here except HarryMuscle's script quoted above that I really don't know how to do.

Temporary Loss Of WiFi And Log Full Of "acs_start eth7 cannot select chanspec with the wrong info"

I'm experiencing this issue and have not been able to find a fix. I have an AX86U main with two AX86U nodes. I set the channel to auto, then back to a preset channel and that doesn't fix it unfortunately. If I leave it on Auto it's fine but then after a while it puts me on a congested...

Asus RT-AX86U error: acs_start eth7 cannot select chanspec with the wrong info

Do we have a solution for this yet? I have an AX86U main + two AX86U nodes now. If I use a fixed channel, I get this error after about a day or two. But worse than that, when the error happens, it bumps me off of my preferred channel 100. I used to get around this by using Auto, which auto...

Wi-Fi 7 Multi Link Operation (MLO) discussion

Well he keeps replying with non-sequiturs/incorrect quotes while continuing to argue semantics, which triggers me because 1) it's ironic and 2) I actually do have OCD about being precise with my words. MLO and carrier aggregation are highly related technologies (as are 802.11ax/be and LTE-A/NR)...

    AiMesh router cannot find node

Thanks, I did all of this and still no luck unfortunately. 😔 But the issue is not with the main AX86U router, because I also tried it with an AX82U and an XT8 I have lying around and they didn't see it either. So the issue has to be with the AC66U B1. No big deal, I got it for next to nothing...

    AiMesh router cannot find node

Pretty much everything that's been suggested in this thread, I've tried putting the AC66U B1 within a meter of the main router, tried connecting via Ethernet, of course with the latest stock firmware, but also tried the latest version of Merlin as well as older stock firmware from 2021. Of...

Wi-Fi 7 Multi Link Operation (MLO) discussion

Nah sorry but this is like saying "it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop" This is from wikipedia and documentation on carrier aggregation: From wikipedia: "In wireless communication, carrier aggregation is a technique used to increase the data rate per user, whereby multiple...

    AiMesh router cannot find node

I'm having the same issue, trying to add an AC66U B1 as a node to an AX86U main router and it's not seeing it. I feel like I've tried everything, it's just not working. I bought the router 2nd hand so it's possible it's defective, however it works perfectly fine in every other way. In router, AP...

Thanks, I will add this one to my list of funny semantic arguments.

Wi-Fi 7 Multi Link Operation (MLO) discussion

We seem to have entered some weird semantic cul-de-sac, so let's just drop it. I think it's clear from what I've written, adding channels together = carrier aggregation = MLO, it's a rather simple concept. Maybe you thought I meant something else, it doesn't really matter as that wasn't the...
