Appologies, I realise this is the merlin FW thread, is there a gnuton thread this can be moved to? .7_1 and .6 sre the ones I've tried to upgrade to - currently I'm on: TUF-AX5400 Current Version : 3004.388.5-gnuton1_tuf

    TUF-AX5400 - 3004.388.7_x or .6_x issues

I've had to revert my TUF-AX5400 twice now from 3004.388.7_x back to 3004.388.5-gnuton1_tuf. On both occasions the GUI slowed to a crawl and wifi seems to be up but devices drop for access then come back, drop etc. I struggle to ping devices from a connected managed switch with big millisecond...

    TUF-AX5400 to replace RT-AX58U

Just an update to this thread - I installed my new AX5400 as the primary router, reset the AX58u back to factory and joined it to the AI mesh via an rj45 cable initially (now upstairs connecting via wifi backhaul). My Q1 above query regards the two FW's using different forks seem not to be a...

    TUF-AX5400 to replace RT-AX58U

It didn't occour to me until today what you meant by this - does it mean the only way to get AiMesh between these two untils would be to revert back to stock or do you mean I'd need to hardwire them to get AiMesh working between them initally? Are Merlin and gntuon not technically compatible...

    Merlin Support 4G on RT-AX58U v1

However, the Virginmedia business 4G dongle appears to require a PIN which I don't have and by all accounts might only work with inconjuntion with the Virgin Router so could be a fruitless excerise anyway. I will see what they say today.

    TUF-AX5400 to replace RT-AX58U

I'm about to grab a TUF-AX5400 to replace my RT-AX58U as the primary router and re-use it to create a Mesh for the first time. AX5400 is supported by asuswrt-merlin.ng fork , my AX58U has ASUSWRT-MERLIN running. Q1 - I guess the two are compatible and I can use both merlins to get them...

    Merlin Support 4G on RT-AX58U v1

I have just installed Virgin Business Broadband (I'm still residential it was the cheaper option during Black Friday googling and with 4 working from home was a no brainer) which came with a 4G dongle for backup. When I go to configure this in Dual WAN tab the Primary drop down only shows me...

I just saw this router on Amazon, ordered it and then checked merlin support and not listed so cancelled the order - bit of a bargin though ! I have a RT-AX58U running merlin and wanted another asus to setup a mesh, although 58U is down to £120 in the UK I think I'll hang it out and see if...

Revert AP mode back to internet mode

Hi All in blind panic this morning due to virgin media being down in my area I was following an article to set-up my mobile phone as a usb connected hotspot (which didn;t seem to work via the router) and the a set about setting it up as in AP mode and tethering to mobile phone hotspot. Any hoo...

Devices randomly get wrong subnet IP address - FW382.1.2

So I eventtually got around to rebooting all devices I could think of that had the ability to accept/send a DHCP request and when I power cycled one of my TPLINK TL-WA890EA (v1) units the issue stopped. https://www.tp-link.com/lk/home-networking/adapter/tl-wa890ea/ When I logged in to it the...

Devices randomly get wrong subnet IP address - FW382.1.2

gives me something to go on, thanks. As mentioned I do have the Tenda mesh set-up and I checked all the nodes and they all have .1 addresses, it is running in bridge mode and I don't see any options in this mode for DHCP, other wifi devices listed as connected to it have .1 addresses, I assumed...

Devices randomly get wrong subnet IP address - FW382.1.2

Hi All After a month or so of upgrading my RT-AX58U has started dishing out 192.168.0.x addresses (or something has) and not the configured 192.168.1.x :-( Here is a log capture of a PS5 trying to get a new IP (last lines show it's MAC and a 0.103 address) - this isn't specific to this device...

    WiFi Deauth Deauthenticated Issue

I have 384.19_0 installed atm, wanted to hold off going to beta as my family are relying on connectivity for work and college etc. This problem has started happening more frequently though, twice this week.
