    Two major issues with RT-AX68U

Correct. Let me clarify, I had the same setup with my oldie RT-AC68U (for years) and now with my RT-A68U for some time. I'll try to rotate the different control channels. Can one see what other WIFIs are using as their control channel, e.g. with an app like WIFI Analyzer? Yes, I checked that...

    Two major issues with RT-AX68U

Thanks for the input. I've had a USB drive connected for years without any issues, so I honestly doubt that that is the issue. But, I'll disconnect it and shutdown my k8s cluster during the weekend to see if there is a difference. I'll change to fixed channels and bandwidth. Are they're...

    backup of entware and jffs

Hi, I used to use use bontmia for backup many years ago and now I see rsnapshot among other being mentioned. What is the recommended tool to use for backup of entire entware installation as well as jffs partition? I have a RPi with an SSD on LAN that I can place backups on (preferably over...

Restart openvpn upon WAN ip address change

I'm not sure that it must have gone up/down. What if the DHCP lease expires and the WAN interface gets new IP from the ISP? Does the WAN interface really go up/down then. I know it's an edge case (I've had the same IP for 7+ years), but still.

Restart openvpn upon WAN ip address change

Hi, Is there a recommended way to restart OpenVPN when wan ip changes (I've actually had the same public IP with my ISP for >7 years but you never know)? The reason why I would like it is because I bind OpenVPN (ovpn-server) to the wan ip address using local ("local host.example.com"). I'd...

    RT-AC68U vs RT-AX68U

Hi, Read all the posts on RT-AX68U but still wondering. I thought that I had bricked my old RT-AC68U a few weeks ago. Since, I work from home I was desperate and ordered a new Asus router, namely RT-AX68U. However, I managed to get my beloved RT-AC68U working again and I'm not sure whether to...

    Disks over 2TB

Turning off metadata checksums did the trick! Hard drive mounts without errors after: tune2fs -O^metadata_csum /dev/sdXn (replace Xn with whatever is the actual identifier of the USB stick in your Linux system.) tune2fs wanted me to run "e2fsck -f /dev/sdXn" under than that no surprises.

    Disks over 2TB

Seems to be related to "metadata_csum" mentioned here: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/320168/mount-mounting-dev-sda2-on-mnt-sda2-failed-invalid-argument @RT-AC68U-A2C0:/tmp/mnt# dmesg|grep sda sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] Spinning up disk... sd 0:0:0:0: [sda] 3907029167 512-byte logical blocks...

    Disks over 2TB

I tried to repartition with GPT and then reformat, but it doesn't seem to work (as expected by the documentation on the wiki). johndoe@RT-AC68U-A2C0:/tmp/mnt# fdisk -l Found valid GPT with protective MBR; using GPT Disk /dev/sda: 3907029167 sectors, 1863G Logical sector size: 512 Disk...

    Disks over 2TB

Let me start by saying that I've read https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/wiki/Disk-formatting#partition-tables a few times now,. the automatic way using 'fd' doesn't work as it complains that the harddrive is over 2TB (it's 2TB, see below). Decided to move to Asuswrt-Merlin because...

    Upgrading from AC68U to AX68U

For a while I thought I had bricked my beloved RT-AC68U and rushed to buy a RT-AX68U as it was on sale until midnight (and significantly less than AX58U). But, after reading this I'm considering returning it directly and use my RT-AC68U (that I managed to recover) until the AX8&U comes down in...
