AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

I'm afraid there is no fix. I had the issue happening more or less frequently for a year (it only started to happen when I started to use RT-AX88U with RT-AX58U in aimesh configuration). Tried all possible configuration changes, different firmwares, scheduled restarts etc, but nothing helped.

AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

Yeah, same with me. It seems with official FW it behaves a bit differently (not so total hang) but with Merlin it does hang the whole router. There is clearly something wrong with the router software. Now that I've changed the Multicast Rate(Mbps) setting the router keeps crashing much more...

AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

My guest network is 2.4GHz and today when the crash happened I tried to connect to the guest network but it didn’t work. My device didn’t get an IP address at all when connecting to the guest network

AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

When this happens there's no way to connect to the router. I've tried from wireless, wired and also from WAN. I have enabled Web access to the router from WAN, also that doesn't work when the "crash" happens. My WAN modem has its own wifi. If I use that, I can tell the WAN connection is working...

AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

I don't know if this matters at all, but this is how my MacBook shows the Wifi in "normal" condition and while the wifi didn't work at all. The MacBook sits in the same place both times.

AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

I spoke too early (I was writing the reply while you replied). The router crashed again today. I was using a windows computer (first time in many days), left it running and went to place where wifi signal is weak while I was streaming net radio with my iPhone. Soon I got a notification that my...

AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

As reported before, I have exactly similar problem. I'm using Zyxel LTE7480-M804 for the internet connection. I've connected to the WIFI provided by Zyxel and checked that my WAN connection works when the problem happens. Also when the problem happens, the router is not accessible with its...

AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

Thank you! I'll try those. I think I'll skip the fixed IP part as I've been monitoring the network very closely because of this very irritating bug in the router and I have not yet seen IP address of any device changing and device logs don't suggest anything like DHCP being overwhelmed. I still...

AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

I'll try that. I've been using the latest firmware all the time. I'm just wondering why would that cause the router not being accessible via it's local IP address making it look like it crashed. There's no way to connect to it when that happens. Nor can I connect any local clients with their...

AX88U driving me crazy because it keeps crashing

I have pretty much identical problem. I'm using AX88U as main router and AX58U as a mesh node connected with LAN and AX88U connected to internet box with ethernet cable (my WAN box is Zyxel LTE7480-M804). The AX88U loses the internet connection and most of the time I'm not able to connect to the...
