    Yes, I have thoroughly tested. "Balanced" is the best for my house with current router. The new one should also be able to change tx power.

    At my house, actually the worst signal device working on 2.4 is -70 dbs while noise is ~-89-~86. Typical device at 10m is ~ -60 dbm.

    Reset the AC3100 seems fixe the issue. And the Archer C2 was reset to the original firmware. Speed 5G upto 60% full. I also see wifi speed for normal device up 30 to 40‰ compared to before reset. What a magic button

    I found the isssue: transmission power set on openwrt 5g is too low so it cannot penetrate the wall. it is a driver bug, been existing for long time but no one fixes it.

    Hi L&LD, Thanks for the suggestion on Media bridge. I found that the Archer C2 hasn't media bridge mode, so I have flashed it with Openwrt, then use client mode (media bridge) to connect the desktop to the main router. It seems Okay with 2.4G, but 5G does not work. I am still trying to fix it...

    Archer C2 is to provide internet to the desktop which does not have wifi. I dont have any possibility to wire desktop to the AC3100.
