    When I view "Network Map", it shows the number 2 next to my desktop's icon and when I hover over it, I see that message.

    Thanks for the info. I had assumed that adding a second router would decrease latency but I see your point. If the time comes when I have to move my router and I have too much latency from the desktop, I'll try a mesh setup if I can find a good deal on a router.

    I figured out how to connect using putty and ran the command that kljiefw posted in this thread - https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ax89x_9-0-0-4_388_31185-beta.82276/page-6#post-841862 and it has stopped the memory leak. At least for now.
