So I found what was causing the issue. When first adding the AX86U as a node to AXE16000, one of the 5ghz wifi from AXE16000 needs to be off. if adding the node via ethernet backhaul. This does the trick and the remaining 5ghz and 2 are broadcasted correctly by the AX86U

Long story short: AXE-16000 as primary with a node AX86U via ethernet From 10G LAN2 of AXE to 2.5G of AX86U, connection ok at 1G as the 10G switch did not arrived yet, AX86U is added properly as a node and all is fine ... until I noticed that no devices are connecting to the node even if in Ai...

btw ... what signal strength is acceptable ? around -60db is ok ? managed to find a spot for the axe16000 inside the hallway wardrobe and don't know if this one would be acceptable ... i'm measuring it at my work space on macbook

Just received the AXE16000, upgrading from 2 x AX86U and plan for the beginning to use one AX86U as a node (will cover only IOT devices). I’ve always used Meriln, never ever been on stock firmware … any idea if Merlin is stable on this router ? Btw plan on using the ROG firmware as the layout...

Good point but unfortunately the wired backhaul will be locked at 1 Gbps. On the main, I'm using the 2.5 Gbps port for my internet provider and will link the node on a normal 1 Gbps port. It's requiring the 2.5 Gbps for the ISP as I have a 2.5 Gbps connection
