Release ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23013

I had to revert my firmware back to .21xxx - this firmware was causing some of my security cameras to constantly disconnect

Beta ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 Firmware version 9.0.0.6.102.4856

I couldn’t get my ring chime nor my ring doorbell (3rd gen) to connect at all no matter what I did on this firmware. I tried all the usual suspects but no joy.

Beta ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 Firmware version 9.0.0.6.102.4856

Yeah. I tried that unfortunately it worked for all devices except for the ring devices. I think it was something very specific to them.

Beta ASUS ZenWiFi Pro ET12 Firmware version 9.0.0.6.102.4856

I tried it, it seemed to improve things for my 6e speed, however I could not get this firmware to work with my Ring devices at all - just couldnt connect with them I guess. Reverted back and everything is hunky dory. Same network settings.

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

One thing I have noticed with this firmware, but not sure if its isolated to firmware though, even though it is way more stable - the 6E speeds seem to be all over the place - even though Im right near the primary node, I get speeds a lot of the time even slower than regular 5 speeds (eg. 450mbs...

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

I think it should be fine provided you aren't on a channel with a lot of interference... I can even get a strong connection with 70db on some outdoor IOT as long as its on a channel with no one else impeding...

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

oh... one more thing, use dedicated ethernet backhaul if you can. its what these are best at.

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

my suggestion - to wipe the routers back to factory settings, then apply the 21739 firmware - its very stable and i've been a happy camper ever since. I was in your boat two weeks ago and wanted to throw the damn things into the lake...

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

I forgot to mention that I am enabled for Ethernet Backhaul - it works flawlessly on the earlier firmware, extremely unstable on this one though... I think its an issue with the firmware vs. my setup, my network setup is very standard.

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

I like you have two switches between the primary and secondary nodes. However, they are only gigabit max speeds and all my cables are at least cat5e.

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

The issue I have been having with this latest firmware is my secondary node would refuse to stay up - would continually go offline and then start up again - several times a day - reverting back to november firmware fixed it though. not sure what the root cause is though.

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

Is 22127 stable for you? I had to revert back... did you do anything special when you updated?

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

What firmware are you currently on if you don’t mind me asking? Are you also using the same Ssid across all bands?

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

Im not sure what other combinations might be problematic, to be honest, I’m afraid to try different things for fear of bricking my device. BTW - has anyone successfully got a wifi 6e connection to the router? I have a gen4 iPad Pro and so far have not been able to make a 6e connection.

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

One thing I did notice, made a difference to stability even with the 21739 firmware, if you enable WPA2/WPA3 wireless security protocol on the lower bands, it seems to make the mesh system unstable over time... reverted it back to WPA/WPA2 and it was fine again. Not sure if its IOT devices...

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

yes, there is definitely something warped with that last firmware build... glad to hear you're back up.

ASUS ZenWiFi ET12 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22127

Other than the sluggish UI, I had the same issues as you. Went to 21739 and the only problem I noticed with it was one of my attached network devices shows up strangely as alternatively connected to the primary or secondary router - seems to switch between them in the UI (which I know is not...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

So... as an addendum, the Eero 6e that I bought will also be going back to Best Buy ... It seems that Asus is not the only company that cannot produce a stable firmware these days - my Eero network was rock solid as long as I didnt try to restart anything, if I did, the second and third nodes...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

After my upteenth time trying to unsuccessfully upgrade to stable firmware I have thrown in the towel. Will be selling my 3 xt8 and have gone instead with the new eero pro 6e mesh. It’s so refreshing to just have something that works - no more dead zones or dropped calls and spotty...
