    Recommendations for an AP

I suspect it's a symmetrical connection. Unfortunately, 100M/100M connections are often more expensive than 1G/100M, so it's better to buy 2G, 8G or 10Gbps download to get 600Mbps or 1Gbps upload (I use 2Gbps/600Mbps ISP line for business location with about 100 clients - the speed used usually...

    Recommendations for an AP

    Pro XG 24 has 8 x 2.5 GbE RJ45 + 16 x 10 GbE RJ45 + 2 x 25G SFP28 ;) Yes, but @ddaenen1 wants to upgrade LAN and I assume he knows what he's looking for. :) 🤔

    Recommendations for an AP

I live in the EU, I am not afraid of being banned from using TP-Link. I've used their switches in several projects over many years without any problems. Omada used to be cheaper, but now the prices are similar to Unifi (U7 Pro XG/U7 Pro XGS + Pro XG 24 PoE).

    Upgrade from Asus RT-AX88U (RT-BE88U / ROG Strix GS-BE18000 / ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI)?..

Since you already know the wifi won't improve (range, signal strength), you can simply buy a 2.5Gbps switch for a few dozen $.

RT-AC88U Set as AP, How do I get into it to check settings?

AiMesh - automatic configuration, all devices have the same settings and Wi-Fi channels. AP - each AP is configured separately, but there is no isolation for guest network.

    Upgrade from Asus RT-AX88U (RT-BE88U / ROG Strix GS-BE18000 / ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI)?..

I usually prefer complete solutions (Gateway, controller, switches, APs), but it's not necessary. For various needs in my installations I used Ubiquiti, Tp-Link Omada, Mikrotik etc. My latest choice is UCG-Fiber and a few U7 Lite APs. @Tech9 uses UCG-Ultra and U6 Mesh. Of course, pick your...

    Can MikroTik handle 1Gbps QOS?

Test from LAN - 99% CPU load on UCG Fiber for 1.8-2 Gbps without acceleration. Test directly from the gateway gives a higher score.

Any changes make to router -> Cable to FIOS?

Fiber generally NOT offers symmetrical speeds (99% installation in my country) - speed plan is important. Of course, from a technical perspective, optical fiber makes this possible, but it is not usually offered in this way. The most common fiber offers in my country are: 300/50, 600/100...
