    Asus RT-AX88U doesn't create Wi-Fi 6 network

Are your devices connecting with the "old" SSID or the new one you created for your 5Ghz radio?

    AX88U Pro Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_33338 2024/11/06

Suggest many/all AX88U-PRO users send (router) "feedback" to Asus sighting this forum thread. The more concern voices Asus hears, the quicker the AiMesh html/script bug will be fixed.

    VLAN question

I believe that is the purpose of the "T" designation in my example for VLAN tagging - for traffic to/from the router. I could be wrong - it has been a while since I played with my example switch config.

    VLAN question

Here is an example of setting up an 8-port managed network switch... This configuration is for one of my 3 Netgear switches. This switch (a GS308T 8 Port Plus L2 Switch) configures port #6,7,& 8 as VLAN 99. Ports 1 through 5 are for the default router LAN subnet. As you can see, the numeric...

    Guest Network Pro and printer

Agreed. I suggest you use the Router's comment/feedback page to voice your dissatisfaction. I've sent several to Asus about this matter. Perhaps more voices will help the cause.

    Addition of Block Internet Access

Yes. This always worked for devices on the Router's subnet. But the option is not available for devices on a router assigned VLAN. Further, the Network Services Filter will not accept VLAN source IPs. Big deficiency with current PRO AsusWRT firmware.

    Guest Network Pro and printer

Turn off intranet isolation (LAN > VLAN). But beware. This will allow all devices on your guest subnet to access all devices on your main LAN. There is no way with stock Asus firmware to give a single device on a VLAN intranet access. It is all devices or none. With stock asus firmware, there...

Having random, but mostly small issues with internet connection. - Cox

As others have said, modem is not likely an issue. But I would make sure the modem is on COX approved modem list on their website. You didn't mention how your coax cable is routed from the house junction box to your modem. Do you have splitters? Likely you do. Perhaps several in series before...

Synology DS918+ doesn't start with the drives in

You may have better replies posting in https://www.synoforum.com/ I have a DS 220+ so I have some familiarity with Synology NASs. What I do remember is that all drives are somehow paired to the hardware as a security measure. This feature means that someone stealing drive units can't just plug...

RT-BE88U won't connect to smart devices

Generally, I would agree with your assumption. In other threads describing similar issues, it was found that some IOT devices could not comm on certain "Channels". If it turns out my subnet hypnosis not an issue, then I would try experimenting with different WiFi Channel selections. ADDED...

RT-BE88U won't connect to smart devices

Okay, I'll bite. What country are you in? Are all your smart devices on the Router's primary subnet. Default subnet? Do any of your smart devices have fixed (static) IP address assignments? Do you have any DHCP IP reservations set up on your router? Once upon a time, a forum poster started a...

Migrating/Upgrade From AX86U to AX86U Pro, Maintaining Settings Assumptions

I understand the function of translation/format conversion and mapping scripting. @Tech9 do you know how many FW version hops Asus translation scripts & mapping support? And would FW downgrading be supported? (Just curious)

Migrating/Upgrade From AX86U to AX86U Pro, Maintaining Settings Assumptions

Ahhhh. Tks @ColinTaylor . Appreciate your clarification and differentiation between AC and AX routers. Your explanation does explain why I have seen different methods refering to "hard factory resets" My bad. Smarter now.

Migrating/Upgrade From AX86U to AX86U Pro, Maintaining Settings Assumptions

Admittedly, there is some ambiguity on this subject. The terms "factory reset" and "hard reset" are tossed around without clarity. Asus uses the terms "method 1" and "method 2" resets. "Method 2" resets are the most robust as they remove all user settings and return the router to it's initial...

Migrating/Upgrade From AX86U to AX86U Pro, Maintaining Settings Assumptions

I will conceded to @Tech9 as he knows better than I do. Good to know there are compatability checks. Yet Asus doesn't have a particularly strong coding history. So I will continue to be cautious about importing settings files to different FW versions.

Trying to Figure Out Why Cable Modem Keeps Losing Connection

Your logic is sound. If time permits, do that experiment again - with a twist.... When Internet goes off, connect your laptop again With the same cable With a different cable Restart your laptop Restart your modem :)
