POssibility to turn single TP-link EAP225 access point off during night time, site is Omada OC-200 managed

I think I have the solution. I’m gonna use a Netgear GS110TP which has the ability to put a time schedule on its PoE ports. Just shut down that specific port overnight. Thanks for thinking along everyone!

POssibility to turn single TP-link EAP225 access point off during night time, site is Omada OC-200 managed

Hej everyone, after having gotten advice here a couple of years ago, just before Covid hit big time, I purchased 4 TP-Link EAP225's with an OC-200 Omada controller. This system is very reliable and I use it with great pleasure. Now I have found the possibiity on single accesspoint interfaces to...

Solution to extend wifi to approx. 80/100m - rural area

Hej everyone, after receiving a couple years back some brilliant advice on how to upgrade my wifi in our city house I am now returning for some advice on another topic. We have a farmhouse in a rural area deep down in the Belgian Ardennes and recently I’ve built a tree house about halfway down...

Looking to update setup of Asus RT-AC3200 with 3x RTN66-U as AP's

Hej guys, just a little feedback after a couple of months of intense usage of the system. It works like a charm, just fire and forget at almost all fronts, fast and reliable, roaming throughout the house, brilliant! There is one little gremlin in the system though, and that is the fact that...

Looking to update setup of Asus RT-AC3200 with 3x RTN66-U as AP's

@Val D. A friend of mine asked me to help her out with the wifi in her house. She would like to start with one AP to cover the ground floor level. My question to you is as follows: if she starts out with one EAP225 AP, does she need the Omada controller right from the start? Or does the...

Looking to update setup of Asus RT-AC3200 with 3x RTN66-U as AP's

Thanks Val :-). I ordered some cabling to place the AP on the first floor to a better location and a PoE switch to get rid of the fairly large poe injector. Should be all good later this week. A lot of people have indeed got a lot of time on their hands to play with these things right now...

Looking to update setup of Asus RT-AC3200 with 3x RTN66-U as AP's

Hej guys, as I was getting bored from being at home due to quarantine regulations, end getting even more bored with failing wifi system I started to troubleshoot the old system. Turns out one of the radio's in the Asus 3200 is fried, so I turned it off. Next was the roaming issue of which I...

Looking to update setup of Asus RT-AC3200 with 3x RTN66-U as AP's

You're partially right here, the 2.4 is very very very full, I'm not at home right now but I'll see to send a graph of the amount of wifi signals found. But, there is some light at the end of the tunnel, because the whole place is reinforced concrete, the 5G is nicely isolated, I only see a very...

Looking to update setup of Asus RT-AC3200 with 3x RTN66-U as AP's

LOL, I like the tone of your post :-). I don't have in mind what I would like to hear, I'm just looking for advice. I do however, disagree with you on the fact that a change for the better will go unnoticed by the wife (or myself for that matter, I do a lot of skyping/zooming/ videocalling via...

Looking to update setup of Asus RT-AC3200 with 3x RTN66-U as AP's

Maybe I was not clear in my first post, apart from the PoE (which is not specifically necessary come to think of it, with all three N66’s in place I got power at those locations anyway. The main things I’m looking for are these: 1. Maximum wireless speed throughout the system no matter where I...

Looking to update setup of Asus RT-AC3200 with 3x RTN66-U as AP's

Wow, thanks @Trip, that is an extensive and well explained answer. I must say that I did not have Unifi high up on my list, I don't know why but somehow I didn't ' feel' it. I will have a serious look into this brand. I would like to leave the ac3200 as modem/router in place, the UDM seems...

Looking to update setup of Asus RT-AC3200 with 3x RTN66-U as AP's

Hey guys, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend :-) I'm looking to upgrade my current setup of an Asus RT-AC3200, configured as modem/router and connected to the optical network terminal of my fibre connection. For speed I only use 5G connections; the 3200 covers the living room. I got a...
