What are your thoughts on the new AI router GT-BE19000AI?

Is AFC dead in the water? I thought they were going to bring up AFC with the BE19000, but now they’re not even mentioning it with the BE19000AI. Good job ASUS! 🤣

    Release ASUS GT-BE98 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_36852 - 2024/10/04

I’m still experiencing issues with MLO, where my S24 Ultra and iPhone 16PM only connect to the 2.4GHz band with the MLO SSID, although my PC (which has a WiFi 6E network card and is running Win11 23H2, not 24H2) uses the correct frequency. How about you?

Asus GT-AXE11000 and RT-AX86U any Firmware update?

We haven’t had any firmware updates for the new lineups (BE96, 98) in almost half a year. I’m pretty sure the AX11000 and AXE11000 have been discontinued and will not receive anything beyond some security updates.

Standard Power & 2 New Hardware Ver for BE98 Pro

I agree it's not a good idea, but are they that fragile? Apple has included barometers in iPhones since 2014. But you don't hear people complaining that their barometers are broken (alright there aren't that many of use cases of barometers on iPhones anyway)

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

The author also wrote this in the end: How about WiFi 6E? The whole point of WiFi 6E was the introduction of the 6GHz band. I mean, whether it's worth buying or not is a very subjective topic. If you think it's worth your money, sure, you should buy it, show your love & support for the...

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

Well, 4K QAM is basically a gimmick unless your typical use case is holding your phone/client device right next to your router most of the time. MLO is still buggy/unusable due to the lack of firmware update in its current state. So a WiFi 7 router with no 6GHz in my opinion is really bad...

Standard Power & 2 New Hardware Ver for BE98 Pro

Don’t think so. I don’t think V2.5 or V2.7 is on the market yet. You can find the hardware version on the outside of the box and on the label on the router. You might want to go to a store and buy it there.

Standard Power & 2 New Hardware Ver for BE98 Pro

But I don’t think barometers are compulsory to achieve AFC, as ASUS (or at least one of their staff) promised to bring AFC to all their existing Wi-Fi 7 routers. Also, I thought you only need planar coordination information to compare with the database to get AFC. I’m not sure how the elevation...

Standard Power & 2 New Hardware Ver for BE98 Pro

It seems that ASUS plans to add automatic frequency coordination (AFC) to the BE98 Pro to achieve standard power via a future firmware update. There are also two new hardware versions, V2.5 and V2.7, with V2.7 adding a Barometric pressure sensor to the router, not sure what the purpose of this...

Asus GT-AXE11000 and RT-AX86U any Firmware update?

Good point, but my original post is more of a joke🤣

Asus GT-AXE11000 and RT-AX86U any Firmware update?

I think routers with BCM4908 can be considered as dead at this point😶‍🌫️ How many updates/how often a router gets updated usually depends on how many people buy it. The GS-AX5400 received FAR fewer updates compared to the RT-AX82U, despite the GS-AX5400 being a simple reskin of the RT-AX82U...

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

I guess in a perfect world, you would also need to test every router simultaneously with all client devices (as each client device is different) as well as every possible home/office structure and device placement. However, in the world we live in, testers typically only run speed tests against...

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

To be honest I think that unless all the tests are carried out at the same time under the same conditions (room temperature, humidity, etc.) and with the latest firmware, they are quite useless, because they are not direct comparisons. Older models (with old firmware) tested in the past do not...

    MLO performance and Limitations

It's crap at the moment (GT-BE98). From my testing, I have both MLO compatible devices and legacy devices droppoing to use 2.4GHz only, and there's no latency improvement (at a non-congested location) with very little performance difference. One of the limitations is that you can't separate...

Solved Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Doesn't Detect 6Ghz Band on Wifi Router

I tried disabling both, but it didn't make any difference. The sad thing is, no one other than you and me cares about this anymore.. There used to be Reddit posts about this, but it's been silent for a few months already..
