    i've also considered eero 6 pro and netgear rbkb852, other than the fact that i like asus but more umportsntly also for the sake of simplicity and uniformity. i'd still like to use the ac68u under diffferent capacities... AP, media bridge, range extender, so i figure it maybe easier to setup...

    I am using latest stock firmware. not that it matters at this time since i don't have any wifi 6 devices yet, but didn't know that ax92u will downgrade wifi 6 to wifi 5 node. however, it would wifi 6 would work normally IF the ax92u functions as a standalone router correct?

    i also love to tinker and mess around to see if i can achieve what i want but unfortunately i get frustrated that i don't have the background and knowledge to get the results to my favor. plus, my family aren't very forgiving either when the internet is down or slow. lol

    thanks for the advice about networking. I definitely lack experience with networking. I did think about 'establish stable/working network functions before adding bells and whistles'......but too late, it was after the fact! lol

    I've been trying to contact some companies to do the job, just in case i may not be able to DIY.........but cannot be ruled out....:-). One of them called back and told me i cannot share phone/ethernet via same cat5e due to noise. One line will affect the other, is that true???
