New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

So I got OpenWRT with vlan but I still need a switch behind to have my 8 ports. Anyway, that could be a cheaper option but I won't have MerlinWRT anymore. And I'm used to it and it's convenient amtm scripts/modules. And in that case, what about just adding a manageable switch to my router and...

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

Where did you got this router's list please? I only find 2 models on AsusWRT page (here: https://routerkb.asuscomm.com/?page_id=14282&lang=en).

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

Here is the answer: So if I wanna have vlan support, I have to upgrade to a "pro" version (at least) and buy a managed switch. :( I see some scripts here and there to enable this feature on current devices. I'll give them a try first. Thanks everyone for your kind answers and AsusWRT-5.0...

And I need money to survive. ;) So I'll find another way to have vlan on my actual Asus Merlin router.

Dammit! I don't want to spend hundreds of bucks to only have a firmware upgrade. I don't care about hardware upgrade as that won't make any noticeable differences. Is an AX Pro version with 8 LAN ports exists btw? Thanks for your replies anyway.

Do you guys think ASUSWRT 5.0 will be ported back to "old" RT-AX (non-pro) devices ? I don't plan to change my RT-AX88U atm but really hope to have vlan support. Hardware won't be enough to support these new features?

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.8.20 -Oct 12, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! CIFS/SMB/NFS! (Thread Closed!)

And why not : /tmp/mnt/<YOUHAVETOSETTHISTOTHEREALMOUNTPOINTOFYOURUSBDRIVEORBACKUPWILLFAIL> I guess that will be long enough to be seen. 😇

Well, I didn't see anyone asking for the "ve" output. It should tell us some important information (mine was the bad USB drive mounting point). Enjoy!

I tried this BETA 3 version. First, I run it with previous configuration and it runs flawlessly. Good job by shoved it! Second, I couldn't modify my USB flash mount point. I don't know if it's intended or not but once it's correctly defined and there's only one USB drive attached there's no way...

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.8.20 -Oct 12, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! CIFS/SMB/NFS! (Thread Closed!)

I planned to do it this evening or tomorrow but I will wait a bit. Is there something to now before update to Beta version? Will it replace the amtm one? Is there a way to backup and retore Backupmon? 😇

Interesting points of view here. Maybe grabbing only sdterr into logs. Or in each part of the backup process, grabbing stderr/stdout in a temp file (in ram) and add it in log file only if there's an error. My 0.02 cents.

    [Solved] RT-AX88U jffs/ubi brain mix

Well @ColinTaylor command line. 😇 If I understand correctly what it did, it "forced wipes" partition blocks with dd and /dev/zero. I guess it's what should have been done with hard reset but didn't. I won't publish all commands as it may lead to router's bricking if applied incorrectly. Enjoy!

My bad, I managed to solve this issue while grabbing a screenshot of the encountered error : It's waaaay more explicit than the log 😅 : Jun 05 2024 09:28:01 RT-AX88U-B540 BACKUPMON[2721] - INFO: Starting backup of EXT Drive on Wed Jun 5 09:28:01 CEST 2024 53 Jun 05 2024 09:28:01...

Is there a chance it could also be forgotten in Backupmon (1.7.2)? I got an issue with my external drive. Here is the log: Jun 04 2024 15:29:08 RT-AX88U-B540 BACKUPMON[3867] - INFO: Starting backup of EXT Drive on Tue Jun 4 15:29:08 CEST 2024 24 Jun 04 2024 15:29:08 RT-AX88U-B540...

    [Solved] RT-AX88U jffs/ubi brain mix

I only restore config file, not the jffs backup. But I still have files that are on this archive. How a 85kio file can restore a 40Mio file?

    [Solved] RT-AX88U jffs/ubi brain mix

@Ripshod @ColinTaylor @RMerlin : unfortunately, the hard wipe doesn't solve my issue. 😭 That was really strange because I only restored configuration backup file just from greeting Asus screen after reset but my whole /jffs partition is still here ! Without restoring the jffs tar file. Like if...

    [Solved] RT-AX88U jffs/ubi brain mix

Hi, I still don't wipe my router 😅: too many people depending on this connection at home. As I'm alone today, I'll probably do it today, after a second backup and screenshots of all UI pages... I'll report here if everything gone right. Enjoy!

I still have space left but: # : > /jffs/.asdbk/main_checker.sh_bk -sh: can't create /jffs/.asdbk/main_checker.sh_bk: No space left on device I guess my jffs partition ( /dev/mtdblock9 on my AX88U) is locked in Read Only mode but I can't find the origin of this behavior. I hope a hard reset...
