    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.44 Beta 1 is out

Have AC66U using .44 beta 1 and 2.4 GHz signal is possibly a little stronger. From my favorite location on the other side of the house with a laptop and inSSIDer 2.1 I am seeing a constant -50 dbm signal compared to 50 - 55 dbm with ver .43 Streamed a couple HDX movies last night with Roku...

3.0.0.4.220.17 Merlin: again troubles with erasing NVRAM

I also had the external HD "Unmounted" issue when 220.17 started for the first time. Unplugged the N66U for a couple of minutes along with the modem and drive, also restarted IE 9. All has been working fine for last couple of hours.

    FW_RT_N66U_B1_3003144 Released!

I have 9 devices connected. When I do a refresh of Client Status the main circle Icon spins for about a minute and only 3 clients are displayed. Then it takes up to 3-4 minutes for the other 6 to display. No more spinning circles for each device. One nice thing - I now have the device name...

    Heat issues with the 66U

Also using .116 and it is showing approximately 54C. First time it took about 8 seconds for the reading to show on the graph. I also had to log in to get it to work.

    Asus RT-N66u wireless speed problem

When you run a test from speedtest.net, speakeasy.net or similar in your region what are you seeing (DL and UL speeds) on the distant wireless and close CAT5 PC's? Can you borrow a friends laptop that has the ability to download at the required speed? Preferably test it at another location...

    Heat issues with the 66U

If I'm reading this page correctly I'm seeing 130 F or 55 C as a fairly constant temperature reading. You need to let it "run" for a couple of minutes. How does that compare with everyone else?

    Asus RT-N66u wireless speed problem

    Frustrated w/ 5ghz NT-66U

I had a similar issue with a laptop and once I brought it into the same room with the router the throughput and performance dramatically improved. In my example the maximum wireless distance for 5 GHz using 40 MHz was about 15-20 feet through one wall. Due to a shorter wave-length a 5 GHz...

    RT-N66U_3.0.0.3_116b Firmware

.116 DL and throughput now working fine I was the one having erratic download and throughput speeds with .116 Reloaded 116 for the 3rd time and for the last 2 days download and throughput speeds have been as good as .108, .112 and .114. What I learned: Flashing the firmware more than once...

    RT-N66U vs EA4500

If it was me I would buy them both on Amazon and return the one within 30 days that does not meet your expectations. Opinions are nice but nothing like testing them both on your network with you devices. Both are very new routers with unknown long term reliability. Cisco recently spent over...

    RT-N66U_3.0.0.3_116b Firmware

CC, I did not notice any difference when running speed tests with .108 or beta .114. Both did very well and showed similar results. I like using Speakeasy, Speedtest and testmy to check DL speeds. As soon as I installed .116b there was a noticeable decrease in Internet download speeds...

    RT-N66U_3.0.0.3_116b Firmware

For me, when running download tests .116b was choppy and slower than .108 and beta .114. Everything else seemed fine. Now using beta .114 again and download tests are smooth and fast. I do not have IPv6 turned on but understand that it is only working with .108 right now.

ASUS RT-N66U Dark Knight Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router Reviewed

Problem with refreshing the client list. Sometimes when I click refresh I'm getting zero clients and need to reboot router to get it to work correctly. Has done it 3 times today. Installed .114 and so far it's been working fine. FW .116b for some reason is slowing down and showing very...

    Asus RT-N66u with TomatoUSB firmware

Not very familiar MAC and their OS. Reboot is a command that once you type it in, the 66u reboots. Then turn off your browser and turn it back on. You should see your N66U start up / configure screen - if your running the Asus firmware or the main Tomato screen with your settings erased.
