VPN kill switch not activating on AX88U with Asuswrt-Merlin

Experiencing same issue. RT-AX86U Pro. After updating to 388_2, and then doing a default procedure, and only setting wan dns as google, I add 2 openvpn client instances, I enable kill switch, apply and later, after not even connecting to the vpn, there is no connectivity. No settings made...
