Merlin;

I've noticed some errors in the logs with my 1900P after booting and I'm not sure if it normal and to just ignore it or somethings wrong. Here's the output below;

Code:
Jul 31 20:00:22 kernel: xhci_hcd 0000:00:0c.0: Failed to enable MSI-X
Jul 31 20:00:22 kernel: xhci_hcd 0000:00:0c.0: failed to allocate MSI entry

Also I noticed that if I have a USB drive plugged in, it shows in the network as a shared PC hard drive even when Samba share is disabled. To get ride of it I need to toggle enable then toggle back to disable then its gone. But if the router gets rebooted it comes back!
I'm using a 4gig USB drive formatted to ext2 for AB-solution only, I had nothing smaller laying around or I'd use that. Be nice to have AB-Solution to just use the jffs and no USB.

I also get this in the logs over time

Code:
Jul 18 19:55:03 kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 5506598
Jul 18 19:55:03 kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sda, logical block 2753535
Jul 18 19:55:03 kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sda, logical block 2753536
Jul 18 19:55:03 kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 5506750
Jul 18 19:55:03 kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 5506750
Jul 18 19:55:03 kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 5506750
Jul 18 19:55:03 kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 5506750

What does the Health scanner show when you scan the USB drive?

If you unplug the drive do the I/O errors go away?

The MSI messages are normal and can be ignored. The I/O errors are serious and indicate that there is a problem reading or writing /dev/sda. That usually indicates that the drive is corrupted and needs fixing/reformatting.

My thoughts exactly, and so I have reformatted this USB stick many times and the router keeps showing the same thing in the logs? When hooked to my desktop it works just fine no errors.

I will run a scan, and yes the I/O errors are only there when the USB stick is plugged in.

Still doing the same thing, I don't get it. Here is the routers logs from over night;

What happens if you use it on the other port?

I will try using a different USB stick in the routers 2.0 port and see what happens. I did notice when formatting using MiniTool Partition Wizard 10 that it would still say un-allocated, but then sometimes show Ext2, but more of the un-allocated business. With the new USB stick I'm not seeing any issues so far like this.

Here's what I get with the new USB stick so far on a fresh install;
I'll check it over the next for days and see if it gives errors.

Also the other issue I asked about that has not been answered yet please. Why does this show up in the networks when I have samba share disabled? only after i toggle enable then back to disable it's then acually disabled and doesn't show up in networks as a shared pc's hard drive folder(s). see screenshots;

By toggling, it does disable but if the usb stick gets pulled out then plugged back in or the router get rebooted it reappears back in the network.

Feature request; Is there away you can add to have say one USB port shared and the other one not, vice versa?
eg. If I use a small USB stick for AB-solutions on the usb port 2.0 and have a shared USB 4tb hard drive on the 3.0 port.

Could be that your computer browser hasn't refreshed itself, and still thinks the device is on the network.

If refresh after doing that disable and re-enable it still show's but can't access it any longer. If I enable the samba then I can view the contents. If I unplug the USB stick it's completely gone. Is there away you can have the router not show it unless it's enabled?

I rebooted the router and have a concern.

Here's the output of the bootup logs;

Is this an issue? -> "Jul 31 20:00:23 kernel: EXT2-fs (sda1): warning: mounting unchecked fs, running e2fsck is recommended"

Does everything else look ok?

The router doesn't decide anything there - your network's master browser does.
