Intially, when I bought the RT-AC66U, 2.4G wireless was very unstable.

However, after one of the later firmware updates, it actually became more or less stable and has been running OK for the past couple of months.

Then, yesterday my 2.4G wireless suddenly stopped working (5G worked fine).

I didn't change anything in the router, so first try was to reboot it; didn't help.

Then I restored factory defaults and entered all my settings again; didn't help.

So, after 6 months ownership with 1-2 months of actual stable operation, I am going to return it and will never again buy a ASUS router. My old Netgear is back in operation and works like a charm.

The RT-AC66U has at least a two year warranty. Contact your local Asus support team to have it serviced. 2.4Ghz shouldn't be an issue with the RT-AC66U and it seems more like an unfortunate hardware issue.

If you are in the US, send me a PM and we can have it serviced.
