New Around Here
Sorry in advance for the potentially newbie questions.

So I just plugged in a external hard drive into my new router and I'm wondering why it doesn't show up when I click on the network option in an explorer window? The only thing that changed when I plugged in the HDD is this came up: router.png, but this leads me to logging in to the routers GUI. I can get into it if I manually type in \\192.168.1.1.

And is there a way to use/read the stuff on the external hard drive from a mac? I tried typing in the new IP address but that didn't work. :/

Did you set up the DLNA/Samba option after plugging it in? , I'm assuming it's showing in the Connected items list under the network map ? .

yes, i enabled the samba option. the HDD does show up in the router's network map but not the network map when i use my windows explorer.
