Can a wireless router have 2 separate SSIDs on the 5GHz band, on different channels?

If you have a wireless router that has two 5GHz radios in them yes

Anyone know the make/model of such a router?
Is there a significant network degradation/interference if both SSIDs were on the same 5Ghz channel and used by separate devices in the same household?

Plenty of tri-band routers out there, typically with 1 x 2.4ghz and 2 x 5ghz radios. Such as the Linksys EA9500 or Netgear RAX200 if you want the latest & greatest tri-band router.

A tri-band router won't let you choose the same channel on both 5ghz radios for obvious reasons. On my Netgear RAX200, i have channel 44 selected on the 5ghz-1 band and channel 157 on the 5ghz-2 band.

If you like your current dual-band router and don't want to change it, just add another dual-band router to it as an Access Point. This way you'll get 2 more radios, allowing you to use independently 2 x 2.4GHz band channels + 2 x 5GHz band channels. The second router doesn't have to be an expensive model since you'll be using it as Access Point only. It doesn't have to be a router at all, many range extenders have a LAN port and can work in Access Point mode. If you space the 2 WiFi devices apart, you'll get extend WiFi coverage as a bonus.
