378.51 Continual Crashes After Update

wthess

New Around Here
After updating to 378.51 from 376.49_5 and resetting to factory defaults, I'm now having some major issues with my RT-N66U. After resetting to factory defaults and reconfiguring everything, within minutes, I could no longer access external addresses by hostname or the router configuration page. Another factory reset and reconfigure. A day later, the same issue. It suddenly stopped responding to requests. I ran some tests. It pings external addresses, so I know it is connected. However, DNS does not resolve. Additionally, I cannot access the configuration page when this occurs. Error I get is "connection closed" in chrome and "connection interrupted" in Firefox. A reboot does not fix the issue. Only a factory reset and reconfigure will work. I've searched the threads but not seen anything else regarding this issue.

I've run a few more tests and it appears that it is two separate issues. As for the router login, I set up https only. I can access the router configuration page from an external address. However, I cannot access it internally. It appears it is a bug of some kind as I've never had this problem before.

Don't forget to enter the correct port. If you didn't change it, it should be https://routerip:8443

try deleting history , then try logging into router

I use a custom port number and always have. This is the first version that has not worked. Tried 3 browsers on 2 computers and one tablet. Same results.

But, none of that explains the DNS issue. I still have to reset to factory defaults and reconfigure to solve that issue.
