380.62.1 Wireless problem?

Dear all.

I upgraded my Asus RT-AC68u with the last update. Since then I have had serious problems getting my full speed of my wireless network from my Macbook to the router via 5Ghz band.

Normally I get 450Mbps with 5GHz band when I look at my wireless connection ( Can see that via ALT+ pressing the wireless icon in the menu bar ( Screeny attached ) .
Also speedtest.net gives me aprox 303,62Mbit which is my download speed from my ISP :)

When I change my wireless settings on the router - lets say change a channel. Then its impossible to regain 450Mbps ! No matter how I do it, and which settings I try to change back to. Its simply impossible to regain the fast network speed.
If I kill the router by turning it off , power it on.. then everything is back to normal?
It seem to "breake" when settings are changed - and only work again on router reset.?

I just spent like 2 hours trying to solve it by changing settings , and found out a power off-on solved the problem.

Any ideas why this happens? I run macOS Sierra version 10.12 .

Thanks for the firmware updates :) good work.

Kind regards

Morphy

You're not noticing anything special. A reboot (not a 'router reset') is required if you want to test different settings in a consistent manner. :)

A 'hard reboot' is also recommended. That is pulling the ac power cord, waiting a few minutes and then plugging it back in. Then, wait at least 5 minutes for the router to settle after it's boot up sequence is complete. ;)

Ahhh ok :) thanks. Actually didn't think of that it needed a reboot when the settings was changed? :)

Gonna try it out ^^

Cheers
