After 384.3 my router has been buggy and hasn't accepted firmware properly even using ASUS firmware tool. sure its stable as a router with all the functionality disabled, once the wireless is enabled the wireless is intermittent and the CPU will peg at 100% every now and then (requiring a reboot). to get around this I have plugged in a Cisco MR33 (thanks work) for wifi and disabled all but core functionality on the rt-ac3200.

I might be slightly paranoid but when this buggy crap starts happening the back of my mind thinks this router is either seriously messed up and / or has been compromised.

Wish the issue had received some acknowledgement on here as I wasn't the only one posting about it. Infact a quick search of 384.* AC3200 reveals quite a few.. well I wish you luck ac3200 owners.. I'm done.

Tomorrow a Linksys AC3200 WRT3200ACM arrives..

The Ac3200 has served me well for a few years but its not like I didn't have complaints about it.. the antennas are cheap AF... always dangly and never staying in position was probably my #1

its been a slice.

Wow , going Linksys , you'll be happy for 3 months maybe . Bought a wrt600 years ago , one FW upgrade 4 months after release then nothing more , great router once I put open source FW , but nothing from Linksys . they never fixed a few bugs in it's official FW .
Have 2 ac3200 bought on release working perfectly , just bought another 2 weeks ago that is working perfectly . As well as my WRT16 tHAT STILL WORKS AND WAS SUPPORTED FOR A GOOD 9 OR 10 YEARS

I have a Linksys E4200 running dd downstairs.. havent touched it in years still works perfectly as a low power switch haha..

I will most likely run opensource FW.. I was gonna try advanced tomato on the RT- AC3200 but I cant be down if it doesn't play nice; as I work from home. perhaps I will try flashing it onto the asus once the new router arrives..

Could your power adapter be bad on the Asus , I have 3 3200 and non have had a problem using Merlin FW . That or you just got unlucky . By the way the WRT600 was taken out of service 3 months ago , still works but a bit slow and it needed a reboot every 3 weeks

Doubtful.. the PSU is running off a surge bar plugged into a UPS. nothing else got hit.. I will bench it though when I have a few minutes.. thanks for the suggestion.

I've had stability issues with 384.4_2, reverting to 384.3 has been rock solid for me.
