5GHz not working: wl driver not found

asus ac3100:

5GH (eth2) interface not operational: 5ghz led off, devices can't detect 5ghz signal, wl command reports that wl driver not found.

Tried reloading fw (both asus and official) via regular procedure and also rescue mode.

Did you do a complete factory reset and clear nvram ? Sounds like something is corrupt.

I did a factory reset, I restored fw (official and asus merlin) using asus restoration utility.

I have NOT cleared nvram. How could I do that?

Most likely hardware defect. Seems to be somewhat common on these.

Seems to be an issue with ac3200, 5ghz drops in and out every 5 minutes. I'm going to restore to: 6_66

I'm afraid that it may be a HW issue because I already tried factory reset. No luck.
