68U performance degradation

Hello every one ...

ISSUE : Package is 50mb download over 10mb upload is what I am running at home
ASUS is acheiving 26mb download ?

layout

BELL DSL configured as modem wireless disabled
ASUS is wired port 1 40ft of RJ45 back to modem
disabled DHCP at Modem so no conflict and let ASUS do DHCP
When I go to BELL modem and test via ethernet i do speed tests at 48-49mb

run speedtest from 2.4 or 5G I get 24mb-30mb ...

Bell replaced the modem .. but issue is at the ASUS end ?
thoughts ?
is there a setting Im may have missed or a throttle QoS is disabled on ASUS

What speed do you get from the ASUS when connected to it via Ethernet?

I would suggest that you take a backup of your current settings and then reset to factory defaults (you can restore your settings later).

Test again with this default setup and if the problem goes away you know it is something that you have changed.

just did it and went virgin - same same -
I dont get it..why is it capped ?

Ive tried multiple speed sights .. all approx same ..25-37mb

Very strange. I'm out of ideas.

Random things to try:

1) change the Ethernet cables.
2) different firmware versions.
3) make sure there's nothing plugged into the USB ports.
4) turn off any samba/ftp servers, etc.
5) change hardware acceleration or QOS settings.

Do you have another PC at home?

Do a single large file transfer between two computers on your home network.

Ill certainly try the file..

what if I put the ASUS 68u in bridge mode ?.. and have the Modem handle the DHCP .. ?

Disable the wireless on Modem and let the ASUS in bridge mode handle all WIFI including 5G ?.. would I be losing any worthwhile functionality ?
