Good afternoon,
I've been searching a reason why this is happening. Yesterday I bought that RT-AC86U and configured the thing really quickly ( basically only turned on the Game boost mode QoS - game specific mode and setup passwords for wifi and names ) . Then updated the firmware to : 3.0.0.4.384_21140-ge07a2dd
I gamed on my computer plugged in with the LAN all night super stable. 2.4 ghz & 5ghzWifi signal were perfect and worked fine. It's when i got up in my room during the night to watch a couple of episodes on the 2.4ghz chrome-cast where things went weird.
After 20 min , the episode lags out and stop buffering so I assume the internet signal was lost, cuz there was an exclamation mark in the cellphone saying no internet access... I went downstairs, my modem was working as intented but, looking the router , the 2.4ghz led was not opened anymore like it was shut down. So I restarted the router and it worked again.... 20 mins later same thing happen....I'm thinking maybe it's the QoS set to gaming that is not good for streaming idk?
Have you encountered this situation before with this router? What you guys think?
