A question to AC68U owners - did you upgrade to 666MHz

Hey All,
I got my AC68U about a couple of months ago and I'm pretty pleased with it, most of the time.
When i looked around on ASUS's website i came across a configuration upgrade tool (version 1.0.0.7) that can upgrade the clock rate from 533MHz to 666MHz, stating the use of the tool is optional.
I'm curious how many here have used it, and what actual difference did it make..
Thanks!

My understanding is that using the upgrade tool changes your bootloader which will prevent you from easily overclocking the unit. I might be wrong, but it's what I read around here.

For some time now (I don't know when they started) Asus has been shipping them with DDR clock set to 666Mhz from the factory, so depending on when it was manufactured it may already have the value set.

The easiest was to check is to go the Administration page, System tab and enable telnet.

Then open any telnet of your choice. From windows you can usually just open command prompt and type in:
telnet 192.168.1.1 (or whatever your router's IP address is)
then enter login credentials

once in type:
nvram get clkfreq

this will return the CPU and DDR frequency, example:
800,666
