I have setup an AC-68U as a repeater. Main router is an AC3100. I tried it first as a mesh system, but it kept disconnecting. It works quite well as a repeater. I have fixed channels on the main router (6 for 2ghz and 48 for 5ghz) but the repeater seems to be on channel 157 for 5ghz. I can't figure this out and I've redone it a couple of times. Does anyone know why it's not on 48?

What firmware is running on the two routers? When was the last time you did a full reset to factory defaults (at least on the Repeater)?

I did a full factory reset on the repeater before setting it up as a repeater. Both routers are running on latest ASUS firmware.

Was the full factory reset performed after flashing the latest Asus firmware?

And again, what exactly is that firmware, specifically?

The firmware is 3.0.0.4 384-45717-gadd52a8.

The repeater already had this firmware installed as far as I recall when it was set to factory defaults and I doublechecked it was up to date before putting in repeater mode.

I'm seeing the same thing. I repurposed a 68U node to act as a Guest repeater for my 68U AiMesh router. Both were running 384-45717 when I changed the node's Operation Mode to Repeater (which is supposed to reset everything on the Repeater. The Router 2.4Ghz is Ch 1 and the Repeater is Ch 10. I'm not extending the 5Ghz band. Also, I see no way to configure wifi on the repeater's gui.

BTW, I'm not complaining nor do I wish to change this channel setting. Just providing another data-point. I see no problem having the extender using a different channel since I only use this to extend the reach of my guest SSID for IoT devices.
