Hi all

I have an AC/N network dongle for my laptop. Yesterday I had a connect speeds of 433Mbps. Today I range from 72-86 Mbps. I have changed firmware on the router, however, selecting mixed, mixed-N or AC does not make a difference. I have tried my laptop different distances away from the router.

I changed from Merlin to ExpressVPN. The firmware is nice but the speed drop is driving me nuts. I am not blaming ExpressVPN. On my desktop, I see a huge increase in both d/l and u/l speeds.

Any ideas?

thanks, Bj

I changed from Merlin to ExpressVPN.

What do you mean by this? Merlin is a firmware; Express VPN is a vpn provider.

When you say connect speeds are you referring to the link speed? And is your "range from 72-86 Mbps" a speedtest result? 72 Mbps is not bad if you are using your router as a vpn client.

What router model are you using?
