Had this issue with the 66U, didn't have this issue with the 87U or 3200... has mysteriously reappeared with the 5300. Not sure what causes it but during the PS4 Speed test it informs me that my router may not support packet fragmentation and it will potentially restrict the network.

Any ideas?

Even with disabling both IPV4 and IPV6 firewalls I'm still experiencing this issue (and disabling UPNP) manually assigning an IP to the PS4 and DMZing it.... still happens.

Packet fragmentation is usually a bad thing.

Excluding the PS4 Speed Test, are you having any network problems?

In games on PS4 I do. Aside from my PS4 no.

I never had this issue with the 68R, 87U, 3200... Only the 66U (aside from the 5300).

What similarities are there hardware wise from the 66U/R and the 5300?

I am also seeing the packet fragmentation error when running the network test on my PS4. I have a RT-AC88U router. It just started happening in the past few days. The issue may be on the PSN side and not with the router.

I've got an AC68U running Merlin firmware and after some recent rewiring on our home network I've noticed this fragmentation message on the PS4 network test result screen too. It happens on wireless and wired connections.

I used a N66U for a few years before the AC68U and until recently I have never noticed this message on the PS4 with either of these routers before.

Unless you set your router to an MTU below 1500 (the standard MTU for the internet), there should be no fragmentation. If you have ADSL, your MTU is most likely limited to 1492, but that happens regardless of which router is being used.

My assumption is that the PS4's report of a fragmentation problem is a red herring and that your problem lies elsewhere.

Who is your ISP? I have Comcast/Xfinity, and I am seeing the fragmentation error. It could also be a Comcast issue????

Have any of you tried testing your MTU?

You can use the ping command to do it. With Linux, it would be "ping -s 1472" to test for a 1500 MTU. I may have that wrong. Google for more details.

Some of the things that might confuse game consoles are QoS and NAT acceleration. Both of these have been known for triggering those packet fragmentation complains for some users.
