Got 2 WLAN extenders connected to the router and neither is showing in the GUI Network Map when clients are connected to the respective extender. Instead clients/extender are being merged into a single item and the item classification is random, i.e. sometimes is shows as laptop and on the next refresh it shows as iPad and so forth - in any case it always a client connected to the particular extender but never the extender itself.

How can this be separated, i.e. listing the clients and the extender each on its own, or at least display the extenders correctly and expand the extender with a list of connected clients?

Did it ever work otherwise for you?

That's how it's always been for me. You can see what app type is using the bandwidth through the QoS and that's usually enough if I need to nag guests about bandwidth. It's almost always netflix or apple anyway.

It would be a handy feature though.

How has 384.4 been for you otherwise? I've been hesitant about putting it on my 5300 yet.

For me it is better as in

- built-in msata slot
- open source
- frequent updates incl the kernel
- highly customisable, e.g. choice of 3 dns (caching) resolvers - one being unbound with support for dns over tls, lxc virtual containers and much more
- snapshot (rollback)
- smaller formfactor (barely half the size of the 5300) yet with better performance
- fiber optic port

There is much more. Yet to utilise the full capabilities it needs some (actually much more) time/effort to configure well, it is not just a 10 minute setup like the typical soho router.

There are 2 models and I got this one https://doc.turris.cz/doc/_media/omnia/omnia_datasheet_2gb_nogpio.pdf

So far not regrets having made the switch

Thanks for the reply and the link.

Is there anything that it doesn't do, that you wish it did?
