AC66U + USB HDD + Sonos can't access files

Dirtdot

New Around Here
Firmware 3.0.0.4.374_5517

The Sonos can access internet music/radio (Pandora, etc), but I have all my music on a USB drive, which I can access from my laptop just fine, but I cannot add the directory to Sonos library. It asks for directory, username & password. I tried Allow guest on & off. It can find the directory (//RT-AC66U/iTunes) when it searches for media, but no luck getting it access. When I try //192.168.1.1/iTunes, same issue. With guest turned ON, its //192.168.1.1/My_Book/iTunes.

The error I keep getting is "access is denied, check username and/or password" or variations on that. Tried the latest iPad, Andriod, & Windows Sonos apps.

I've tried admin, as well as created sonosuser, & set permissions on the directory properly. Passwords I triple checked.

I know multiple connections under same username are not allowed, I don't have them.

This used to work in previous firmwares, not sure where it got broken. I recall it last worked in December.

I have a ticket in to Sonos, but not much help on their end.

Anyone have this working on this hardware & firmware?
