New Around Here
I'm deciding on buying a new router. I want a very good range. My house has some walls and there are many neighbors nets. I liked the asus routers reviews from what is available in my country. I'm undecided between ac66u and n66u. I don't have ac devices but for some reviews -like this from cnet's- the ac66u with newer firmware has better range and throughput on 2.4 than the n66u. Can someone kindly confirm these benchmarks?
Thanks you for any help.

With the amount of changes Asus has done to the firmware and their wireless drivers in the past year, it might be interesting to revisit these two routers in the near future, see what type of improvements have been brought by the updates.

My own Lanbench tests were hardly scientific enough to be reliable, but there did seem to be a throughput improvement on my RT-AC66U.

I have read both reviews but I understand that the ac66u was tested with an older firmware. It would be interesting to know if there is a difference with a newer one.

A suggestion: I can't find a description for the router chart locations. It would help to better understand the charts.

I remember from a review that F is the farthest location and the ac seems to have the best throughput there. That may be relevant to my house to compare.
