AC68R 5ghz blinking LED

Just noticed after upgrading to Merlins .39 build that the 5ghz band LED is blinking inconsistently. I don't mean that it's flickering as it should when on use, but rather flickering, then turning completely off then back on again.

Not sure what to make of it. My local Best Buy is out of stock due to the recent sale. Anyone have any advice? Or does anyone know what that indicates, I haven't had any performance issues.



Update:

After re-uploading Merlins .39, and doing multiple factory resets the blinking light on 5ghz persists.

After all of that everything seemed fine, but once I connected a 5ghz device to the network it immediately started blinking again.

What gives...?

In my experience, that light has had weird blinking behavior for a few firmware versions (on the official Asus fw as well). I think at one point RMerlin said that it was controlled by the wireless driver, which is closed source. I haven't noticed any issues associated with the blinking so I don't consider it that big of a deal.
