AC68R and 2 xboxes

New Around Here
Hello,

I'm not sure if this should go here on the the Xbox Live forums, but I thought it was worth a shot.

I have a AC68R with connectivity issues for Xbox Live. I have 2 Xbox Ones (mine and my roommates) on the network, and both players can be online and playing at the same time, but we run into issues when we try to party together. We never get into a party (specifically in Destiny), and if one of us joinst a party the other is in, it boots the other person from that game party.

I have uPnP turned on, as well as port triggering (Slingbox) and port forwarding (UNIX VPN server). I'm not using either port forwarding or port triggering for Xbox live.

Any suggestions? Thanks!!

You're not supposed to use port triggering and port forwarding with upnp enabled all at the same time. Upnp will connect all of your network devices through the correct ports by it self. Adding manual port forwarding or port triggering can cause issues with upnp. Xbox live uses other ports besides the main ones they mention. I would try turning the port forwarding and port triggering off and leave upnp enabled. See if that works.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try that tomorrow.

I just enabled upnp today to try to get the xboxes working (I usually play just fine with a "Moderate NAT" on the Xbox. This issue with two xboxes is new since my roommate got his.

I use port forwarding to allow my VPN server to accept incoming connections, and I use the port triggering for the slingbox (found on my old d-link router that was the most reliable method).

I need my VPN server to always be available, as I travel a lot for work, and use the secure connection it provides for my internet use on hotel hot spots. Is there a uPnP app that can be run on my server to correctly map the needed ports in the router? I've always just hard set ports in firewalls with forwarding rules in order to more finely control what does and doesn't get through.

Thanks again for the help.

My Slingbox has worked on several brands of routers by just forwarding 5001 to a static IP assigned to it. Perhaps eliminating port triggering might help solve your other problem.
