Been away from this router for a few months. Used a desktop on the network for several hours then opened the router gui to see this! The router seems to be working fine despite this odd looking network map, any cause for concern?

Is this a TM-1900?

Same here. Usually either dns not responding. Run top/htop and paste the output

Panel states that you are unplugged from internet. I suspect high cpu is due to router logging that fact to syslog.

He said router seems to be working fine. I had same issue when internet was working fine but dns to connectivity check was failing

Well, trying to ssh gave me "connection refused" in putty, which led me realize the reboot button in gui didn't actually do anything! After physically rebooting the router everything is back to normal. Not sure if what I saw earlier was accurate at all

It takes CPU cycles to post to syslog. How busy the CPU gets is dependent on the log entries per second as well as the nature of the cause for that entry.

we don't know what apps you run, but if they included diversion + skynet, you may need to run diversion in an ssh session to get it's files to sync with skynet better. a few updates ago i had a similar high cpu% issue on a ac3100, and that's what fixed it for me.
