New Around Here
Hi,
Current setup:
Sky Hub 2.0 --> TP-Link av500 homeplug --> TP-Link av500 homeplug --> ac68u (AP mode)
Working all good, now I want to get fancy (maybe).
Household pretty much runs all Mac machines (expensive, i know), however I still have my trusty Dell Tower however I realize it only has 2 uses in life now.
1 - iTunes library (using iTunes Match) - also run Google play client so it uploads everything to google play, so that I can access everything on my Sonos music system, without the need to leave the PC running.
2 - Photo's - Has all the family jewels (pictures), I use picasa to maintain the library and upload to Google Photo's or whatever they are calling it now (not full resolution). Oh and video files in there too.
All of this is then backed up using a crashplan account, I have the cloud backup, plus I do my own backups to 2.5" drives, better safe then sorry.
Now I'm thinking, can I put a USB 3 SSD drive into the asus, and use it as an external drive, attach it to my Mac when I want to use it, and I still want to use crashplan to make sure it is backed up.
Would this work??? Any particular caution on setup??? Have not bought the drive as yet.
