Hi All,
I discovered a strange behavior on my two routers.
I have an RT-AC87U as Router and a “new” RT-AC68U as AP (1 Ghz CPU and 256 Mb ram). As far as I understand they have same CPU and Ram configuration.
When doing some testing trying to find out which router had the fastest USB3.0 speed I also tested speed in-between two computers over Wi-Fi.
I noticed the following:
When both computers connected 5G to AC87U I got about 32Mb file copy speed.
When both computers connected 5G to AC68U I also got about 32Mb file copy speed.
When connected 5G with one computer to AC68U and one to AC87U I only got 5-15 Mb (fluctuating a lot)!
Did not matter what computer was connected to AC68U / AC87U.
When connecting one computer to AC68U 2.4G and the other computer to AC87U 5G I got stable 22Mb! So faster than when connected 5G to both routers!
I do have separate 5G channels for each router. Ac68 on ch 64 80Mhz and AC87 on ch 100 80 Mhz.
I tried a few 5G settings on and off did not make any difference.
LAN connection between routers say1Gbps on both routers.

Forgot to mention:
Both computers close to each other and about 3m from routers.
Both routers about 0.5m from each other.
Laptop have Intel 8265 Wi-Fi connected @780-866.
Other computer has Asus PCE-AC88 connected @1170-1300 (same on both AC87 and AC68)
Tried several FW (latest Asus 382, Merlin 380.69 and Merlin 382.2 Alpha2) on Rt-AC68u same result.
No other devices were connected to routers while testing!

Made second test computer to computer file copy with my RP-AC68 repeater setup as AP located in basement connected with Lan cable 1 Gbps to Ac87U (about 20m from other two routers).
RP-AC68 connected 5G-LAN-5G to RT-AC87 40-60 Mb file copy speed! This is more like what I was expecting from 5G-LAN-5G file copy speed.
And I got about 26Mb when connected 2.4G to RP-AC68 and 5G to AC87U. Also faster than connected 2.4G to the RT-AC68U.
More strange results (a bit off topic..)!
When using my USB-AC68 Wi-Fi Adapter in the Laptop (USB 3.0 port used) it connects at 780-970 on 5G and 450-600 on 2.4G.
In exact same setup as above connecting to RP-AC68 With this adapter I get lower transfer speed on 5G 30-40Mb and faster on 2.4G 30Mb.
So it is slower than the internal Intel 8265 2x2 adapter. Bad USB-AC68 USB3.0 driver/hardware?
Something is broken in the Rt-AC68U! Software or Hardware bugg?
Anyone can explain this behavior?
