Ad blocking with an rt87

New Around Here
So as the title reads I am looking for a way to block ads at router level. I did a search on here and the only thread I found was written off rt66 and lower models using entware. After doing a bit more research I found out I cannot run entware do to the chipset in my router. I am new to this forum and asus routers in general but have a decent computer background. Could anyone point me in the right direction for accomplishing this? I read about dns blocking but I'm not sure this is a good option or not. If anyone could post some valid tutorials or give me some feedback on pros and cons of ddns blocking that would be great.

Thanks

Kitty.
